I drive a 2016 Texas edition 4x4 so I currently have the 20" Texas edition rims. I'm still running stock tires but have added a 2.5/1 max trac leveling kit. I do plan on going up in tires size (maybe even to 35s) but I really like the look of more tire than rim so I am contemplating going down to an 18" rim does any body see and adverse effects 1e22bdefcca53d7e115225c54f327b2a_98bc9624795142cd1ca2f853ca90d85ddbe75d34.jpgto this? Also as I am shopping rims I keep coming across a brand called vision that are relatively affordable and has pretty good reviews I've posted a pic of the style I like any feedback on the quality and construction would also be helpful.
    Thanks

Thanks for the info. The conservative side of me is leaning towards 33s to avoid a cmc. Then part of me still wants 35s.

Vision makes tons of wheels, mostly for Discount Tire. The owner has been doing it for years and they are a great company.

I had vision wheels on my 4runner. Never had any problems. Only issue I had was that they became very popular because they are so reasonable.

And i AGREE 100 % with you on the more tire than rim !!...Everyone has their own preference on rims...looks...size etc...I prefer 18 's over 20's

There are pros and cons in going with smaller wheels with larger sidewall. There are definitely more pros than cons.

By the way, my tires are 295/70/18.

My truck came with 20's. Went to 18's and never looked back! Unless it is a sports truck tuned for performance, I would stick w 18's. Unless you really like the look of 20's.

    18" wheels
    • better for off-roading
    • Better ride on/off-road
    • Cheaper tires and more selections
    • Less chance to curb rims
    20" wheels
    • Better on street handling performance
    • Looks (subjective)

295/70/18's are virtually 35's in height and will give you the same look. But since they're about an inch narrower than 35x12.5, you'll have a lot less cutting and trimming to make them fit. At 2.5" of lift, you'll almost definitely need a CMC with 35's. Going to be close with the 295's but likely not. @BlueBottle nailed the pros and cons of 18s vs 20s. Personally, I would spend a couple hundred more and get Method wheels. You can usually get them under $800 shipped to your door.

Yeah man. I found The Standards in a 17x8.5 size. They are black. The guy just took the posting down; he was wanting $400 but the shipping was $140. I asked if he would split shipping and he agreed as long as we did the deal outside of ebay. Ebay charges almost 10% for their fee nowadays..
