The entune plus head unit is horrible! The scout gps is a joke for a nav system which is fine I use Waze anyway. I had a premium unit in my 2015 4Runner and it was ok and much better than the plus i have in my 2018 tundra. I have someone that has a JBL head unit cheap from the same year as my tundra. Is it as simple as switching these out? What else is needed?

I guessed it wouldn’t be that simple. Can you go to a premium unit? Is there something better? Seen several people mention the android units?

None yet. Just bought March 5, 2022
I have a 2018 Tundra TRD OFF ROAD. It came with the cheapie Scout Nav radio. I purchased a premium radio with NAV from someone on Marketplace. There is nothing wrong with the unit. However, although everything other than the "aftermarket type" apps work, those aftermarket apps (iHeart, Slacker, Fuel Prices, Stocks) don't work. I have tried almost everything. I even called Infotainment (reseller) and they "tried" to help, but nothing. There has got to be a way for this premium radio to work in this Tundra. I'm still researching. Help if you can!

I had the premium system on my 2015 4Runner and for Alexa to work you need to be connected to your phone on BT AND logged into the Toyota app in order for those apps to work. Again stupid functionality on Toyotas part…
