Underbody lighting that will work with VLED?

Did a search, but what I'm after has too many keywords!

I want to run running boards/underbody lights tied into VLED floorboard lighting. However, I want to sometimes color-change them, so VLED underbody doesn't do that.

Are LEDs standard amperage, that I could get a kit and put/splice VLED Y connectors to it? Are any of these type lighting kits dependable?

I think most LED's have an operating range of 8 to 24 volts and low amperage across the board so you should be fine. Marine stores have some pretty descent led strips.
