I just watched a review of the new 2022 Trd, the reviewer made a significant complaint about the lack of front seat comfort and thigh support for the driver. So disheartening to hear that as it is so important for larger drivers.

That is such a subjective matter that you can't rely on anyone else but your own arse.

I've seen several videos where the reviewers like them. It's all opinion and everyone's body is different

I'd like to not be right on this, but what i have been able to conclude is the front seats are manual, not power. i see no option for a power seat in cloth covering. only way to get power seats is get the leather option. A SR5 with a TRD package is $50k and has manual seats and it wouldnt surprise me if they are uncomfortable.

Just going to put this out there... the non platinum/ 1794 seats suck in the current gen's. The extra features and movement in the higher trims creates a better seating position. Just drove my dads limited 21 back from montana to use for a few months until my hybrid is ready and man, was it uncomfortable vs my platinum's... and that was a 7hr drive.

Thanks folks! I have a 2018 1794 Edition Crew Cab, love it but the seats are not very comfortable, so looking forward to test driving a 2022.

I've had my 2022 1794 with heated/cooled seats for about a week now and noticed last night that it feels like I'm sitting on a piece of rebar with cushioning around it. Whatever this edge is, it's not well padded, and it runs left to right about 6" in front of the seat-back, so right under the bony part of my ass. I guess I should be thankful it's not vertical.

Oh, hey y'all from Texas! (Soon to be Arizona)

I have the limites softex and think they are pretty comfy, but I'm 5'9" and about 185 lb. They are on the firmer side, but some people like really plush seats. I don't.

How do I upload a movie file (*.mov)? Because you must see what my 2022 Limited seat is doing. It has a crackling noise. The dealership film it to send in to toyota.

I have the same issue with the seats. My 22 plat seats don’t feel that much better than my 14 plat. However, if I position my cheeks on the 2nd portion it does feel better, but then I’m slouching a bit.

Find my TRD sport with softex seat pretty comfy. But then I am also use to sitting in Recaro seats in my evo and found those comfortable too. All opinions. Didn’t find my 2022 much different than my previous 2015 limited. I’m 5’10 210 lb. Sit pretty leaned back too.

Dunno if the TRD Pro seats are different than the SR5 TRD OR ones I sat in but at 5'5", I find them super comfortable.

From my perspective, it's not a complaint as much as it is a statement...throwing it out there for others to see and reply if they have the same problem with their seat. It could be me, I'm 220 pounds with a boney ass but by comparison my 2005 Camry seats are much more comfortable. If yours don't feel that way (even when applying pressure with your hand), mine may be a concern. I suspect it's related to the seat cooling system, but that's just a guess...hence my desire to understand whether it's inherent to the design or if mine is defective. Simple as that.

After owning the 2022 Tundra for 2 months, I must say the driver seat is not comfortable. I find the drive to be way too stiff. I get that it's a Sport but I can feel every bump on the road. My older Tundra had a better ride quality. When I bring the seat higher, I can't put the steering wheel higher so my legs are always touching the steering wheel. I'm not a Ford guy, but I will confirm that their seats are much better.

I have a 22 sr5. It has the cloth manual adjust seats. They seem pretty comfy to me. No issues so far.

@RLHOK thats awesome. Dude no joke the leather platinum hurts or activates my left nerves. Plus you can feel some bars that go side to side at the seat separation. For nearly $70k you would think it would be the best message chair type of seat on earth. Glad yours is awesome

I have problems with my tailbone and left leg on drives longer than an hour. So I bought this product and it really helps. I also use it on my riding lawnmower.

@Mikemikha that would suck and I hate to hear that.

Thats one problem with buying a new vehicle, any new vehicle, you never really get a feel for the seats test driving it a few miles. What may feel ok for the test drive could turn into a very uncomfortable seat for longer drives.

Totally agree you would think they would have figured out how to fix that bar for the price of the truck. I keep trying to not let it bother me but it’s been really hard lately. Has anyone gone to the dealership to find out if this is normal or?

I have the same issue. My limited seat is the most uncomfortable vehicle seat I have experienced. Yes I am 6'5" 275, but I have never owned a vehicle with such poorly made seats. I have pulled back the cover and there is just a layer of foam over metal seat frame in the bolsters. I did not notice the issue on the test drive, but 30min into the first drive the foam compressed and the seat frame is jabbing into my leg. I own a 2014 Sequoia that is very comfortable. I drive 45 min each way to work and am miserable once I arrive. Considering trading for something different.

I’m right there with you, I love so many things about the truck, but it’s so hard to look past the uncomfortable seat. It’s gotten so bad that the bottom custom doesn’t bother me but the lumbar support is actually making my back hurt. I’m about to just buy some support and make that work. However, if all else fails looks like back to the dealer she goes…

My TRD Pro is my daily driver until further notice. Just over 7k miles on it including a 2500mi round trip a month ago.

I am 6’3” / 255 and the seats are plenty comfortable. My wife is the opposite; super short and small, but even she has no complaints about the seats. In fact she typically has the heat on for added comfort any time she is riding with me, but she does that in her vehicle also.
In contrast, she absolutely hated the seats in my Ram whereas I knew they weren’t great but tolerated them anyway. Dodge/ Ram historically has some of the worst and most complained about seats.

Long story short, the ‘22 Tundra may not have the most refined or superb seats on the market but they are far from bad.

My 2023 platinum front seats are very uncomfortable for me at 6’3 210 lbs. there is the bar that goes horizontally across the the second seam of the seat that is the issue. There’s hardly any padding there and the padding that is there over the bar can be compressed with very little force to reveal the bar. I equate it to the feeling you get when you have to sleep on one of those cheap sofa beds at a hotel and feel the support bar through the mattress. I had a Titan for 2 years and those seats were extremely comfortable.
