In order to install new door handles, I need to remove the door panels. I figured while I have them off, Id add some sound deadening. Do you think this is worth it?

Seems like everyone that does is happy they did.
If stock stereo it may not have huge sound gains but should be a bit better.

The reduction in road noise will be nice as well as the doors feeling a bit more robust when closing.

Much of the material has an adhesive side to stick to the metal. Cost can vary. Haven't priced lately but a couple hundred should get the doors done. Same costs for roof, floor, and back of cab. Some have done these as well.

There are several products out there that are different thicknesses at different costs.
Here is one thread discussing it.

Done all four doors and back panel, little better stereo, not so much sound deadening, much firmer doors.

It's worth it just for the more solid feeling alone. You don't even need that much material too. 25% coverage will be 90% effective.

I've always done it to my vehicles. Inner/outer door skin, firewall, floorboard, headliner and rear wall. I used raamaudio (no longer in business) back then, not sure what to use now. Well worth it for the sound deadening and the feel of the doors.

SecondSkin is apparently really good and has a lot of options.

I plan on using them when I do it to my Tundra.

Sorry to wake the dead on this, but has anyone chased this down?

it’s worth it for a sound quality standpoint for upgraded speakers but don’t expect a world of difference.

I had the same thought process. I'm going to have the door panels off to install my color-matched door handles, so I might as well add some deadening at the same time. The material is deceptively heavy. I suppose it needs to be. I probably won't be installing mine until Spring, as we're beginning to see negatives for highs and I'm unsure of the parameters for installation temp ranges.
