So, about a month ago, I ordered some of the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions HyperFoam Wheel cleaner and tire prep. I'd watched a few videos, and it really looked like a good option for a deep cleaner for tires when prepping for a tire coating. Thanks to Mother Nature sending us a blizzard and some very cold days, I finally got around to trying it today. The truck has not been washed in about a month, and has been driven a lot in snow, slush, rain and on generally filthy roads. I only bought the 23oz bottle in the event that I did not like it.

For starters, it comes with foaming sprayer, which I really like. The down side is that you seem to use more product, but the up side is that the product clings really well. It advertises that it will remove light iron deposits, and it does have a hint of that skunky smell that iron removers do. In my experience, it lived up to it's billing. It did an excellent job removing road grime from the wheels, and did remove some of the iron deposits. When agitated, it got the wheels very clean. Cleaning the tires is where it really shined, however. They were left with a new-looking, matte black appearance, and really seemed ready for a coating. If you're the type of person who does not like any tire dressing or coating, this is the product for you.

I'd recommend buying the gallon bottle, which currently is only available through Turtle Wax or Amazon. I went through about half of the bottle on my truck. The gallon is full strength, and there are dilution ratios on the back, which makes it a better value. In my experience, it outperformed Brake Buster, which truthfully, never really worked that well for me. I'll be ordering the gallon, and then mixing it in multiple dilutions.

Sweet review. Thanks! I have a bottle of it I am now looking forward to trying it too. I think the best thing about Brake Buster is the rust inhibitors which I think this product has too if I am not mistaken.

According to Turtle Wax...that is true. I'm also gonna mix up some dilution and put it in an IK foamer, just to see if it changes the way it performs at all. The Cquartz Dlux that was on the wheels was gone, which explains how they got as dirty as they were. It will be re-applied once we get clear of possible snow, which probably will not be until March. I like having something like this on hand for, "just such an emergency"...as Foghorn Leghorn would say

I ended up trying it out this weekend along side their iron remover wheel cleaner and Carpro Retyre. On its own it was a fairly good cleaner but wasn't pulling all the tire bloom out when compared to the Retyre (more on this later). Despite this I may end up getting this in the larger quantities just to make dispensing it easier out of a a foamer.

I think the hidden value is the polymer protectants. It was clear to see on the brass stem caps that look like they are coated after using this product. I think these are intended to be used as a system. Using their tire dressing after the foam...holy shit, super easy to apply, self leveling but very glossy ( I know shine tires isn't everyones thing). Wheels looked coated too before I applied a sealant.

Compared to Retyre I would work the TW product in until I only saw white foam, hit it with Retyre and it would pull out the brown bloom again. Turns out Turtle wax has a basic tire cleaner comparable to Retyre, save yourself some money and get the TW Tire and Wheel cleaner if you need something stronger.. Brian from Apex did a comparison and it looks like its the same product:
