I got the Amazon ones. I have a hard time dropping that much on the nest ones. Plus having to buy 2 makes it even more difficult. We'll see how the Amazon ones work out.

Like I said, I've been hearing really good things about those. If our Nests crap out, I'll be going in that direction. Great choice.

More progress on the shed off the chicken coop this morning, but then had to come in and get cleaned up for a celebration of life this afternoon for the former owner of our company.
We'll be back on it bright and early tomorrow.

A friend loaned me this attachment. It's for horizontal surfaces. I cleaned my concrete pool deck in about two hours. Usually it takes six.

(Yesterday) Transitioned from snow season to Summer, put the snow blowers in the shed, cleaned the shed out some, put snowmobile stuff all away in the trailer. Also put up the first security camera on the garage pointed at the alley. Went with these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RHQGS8V?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details have 2 more planning to put up covering other sides. Seems pretty nice so far. Can view in app anytime, or use the software on a PC. I've had the live view up on my other monitor since.

Frivolously I bought a camera to monitor the birds that have nested under our porch roof.

Eastern Phoebes if you're curious. My wife has named the camera Phoebe Watch and currently has it live streamed to the Google Home in the living room.

A few weeks ago I installed a solar powered LED light fixture in my shed. This one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09839LWWB?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
It's pretty bright too. The motion sensor battery powered lights I had in it before didn't hold up for very long. Not bright enough and kept falling from the ceiling.

Yesterday I dug up a dead Rosemary bush in my backyard. I'd been wanting to get rid of it for a while, but it helped keep mosquitos away. Filled in the hole and planted so grass seed. Repotted a Money Tree that had outgrown its pot long ago. Just general yard work and upkeep.

Tore out a built-in climate-controlled dog kennel that was in my garage from the previous owner (vet). As with all things I take on, it was more work than anticipated due to the thing being double-walled and insulated. Not to mention they used twice as many nails as they should have and since we were trying to salvage all of the wood, psycho mode demolition wasn't an option.

I plan to extend my work bench and build storage shelves as my family of 5 has too much crap.

A couple of buddies have one they said I could borrow whenever. I think I'll go ahead and buy one since now I have the pool deck. Every once in a while I'll do the driveway with it too I guess. I've used one once. Freaking awesome and much quicker

I put a Google Nest camera in our pecan tree next to our mailbox. Some crook is forwarding her mail to our address and I just want to keep an eye on things, in case she shows up. As a bonus, it watches our driveway too.

I also added more led lights to my workout room.

I have 12 of their cameras, with a 16 channel NVR. Overall I've been pretty happy. I don't have any 8MP, mostly 5MP with a few 4MP and a 2MP. Be careful, once you put one up, it's like crack. You want more and more. "Oh, I can't see here, add a camera. Oh I can't see there, add a camera" :rofl:Hence why I have 12. I started with 1. My name is Chris, and I have a problem with cameras.

That thing is junk, but finally got it staked down. Box made, lined with weed carpet, and 5 yards of mulch moved by wheelbarrow...dead. Excuse my attempt at a green thumb...installed a French drain and gravel along the fence line a few weeks ago.

I've had one similar. I was slightly thankful the hurricane destroyed it and I built a stronger one and buried 4 of its posts in the ground. Kids jump on it rough and swing hard and no problems. Never did the mulch bed although I kinda wish I had. I like them, just never did it

Was a gift from their grandmother so I had to put it up. I'd much rather build my own. It'll hold a kid's weight but it's very funky. I ended up using strut braces and L brackets all over the place to reinforce it. Mulch bed wasn't too bad at all...just moving 5 yards my wheelbarrow was the pain lol.

I built one of those for my daughter when she was 4. It took me a freaking week of working sun up to sundown. Just when I'd be ready to say "fuck this", she'd open up the back door and yell "I love you daddy!" The instructions said it would take two skilled men 2 days to build or something like that. So I figured 7 days for one unskilled man was about right.

Took me about 14 hours over the course of 2 days. I built it inside my garage so worked on it at night. The hardest part was putting the playhouse on my back and walking it out to where it sits about 30 yards lol.

A couple of years ago my mom bought my boys a “park” at the time, and the price of wood, I thought we got a screaming deal; lifetime warranty on the wood. Then they started talking about delivery and installation, I was thinking I’d get screwed assembling it; they told us it would be 100$ to assemble it……. Me and my mom looked at each other and we’re like hell yeah!!!!

I didn't realize until 3/4 thru the back page of the manual had a number to call to pay for installation...hindsight 20/20 I would have f*cking paid it. I'm hoping a storm destroys it and I'll build my own.
