For anyone looking, there is a 1794 sitting on the lot at Mechanicsville Toyota (VA) that is not sold. Ready for instant drive away. Price: $67,205.

I almost jumped on it, but it's the 6.5" bed, hence the availability. Beautiful truck though

Oh yea, those 1794s sure pack the chrome.

I still question the quality of the 3rd Gen build. Was there again today getting my son’s taco serviced and took another look. The seals around the windows are terrible.

It just seems that those seals in all the new tundras are just missing that cap like sleeve that our older generations have on them. Seems like an obvious simple fix

Funny, a Platnum I almost bought last week had that same problem in the same spot.

I hear that excuse a lot and frankly it’s not a get out of jail free card. I can understand some new items needing to work through issues but this truck has suffered some issues that I feel like do not qualify as a first year blunder. Those window seals are poor QC and no excuse for it. I know it’s small and a easy fix but I’m thinking that if Toyota let this out the door what other issues are going to bite us prematurely. For $67,000 I expect better.

That's local to me, Im in Richmond. But considering its $35k (more than double) more than I paid out the door for my used 2016, think I will pass. I think I was meant to be in my truck because I can't bring myself to pay $70k for a half ton truck, well any vehicle.

I wouldn’t say that’s an excuse. It’s more of a cliche than anything.

Though I would argue that setting up and training people to create a completely new product is a difficult process which has lots of nuance to it and people get better with these sorts of things given experience and practice. This is why that statement is cliche. To clarify, I’m not defending their failures here nor disagreeing with you I’m just throwing out the reasoning as to why you wouldn’t want to be the beta tester on a New product.

Just remember one thing. There has likely been a lot of turnover in skilled workers in these factories due to the workforce issues going on. I would not underestimate the need for these companies to train very green people. Just my $.02

Same here. Don't get me wrong - I like the new Tundras (well, to a point), and wife's family lives and grew up in, and still lives in, Mechanicsville...but when your current truck is 2 years old, paid off, and you'd incur a loan of at least $15K to get a new one....nah.

I also feel the same. My ‘17 Platinum is paid off plus the new truck is $20k more than I paid for my Plat. No thanks. Plus, I’d have to start all over on the mods. Lol
