Looking to level my truck and I don't think I like the idea of a spacer so I'm looking at using 5100's in the front only. I have a truck cap so my rake is only 1-5/8" right now. So I'm thinking the middle setting on the 5100's will be just right if I leave the rear alone.

1- Specs show the middle setting is a 1.57" lift. Is that realistic, or will it actually be less?
2- Any reason only replacing the front shocks would be a bad idea? I don't want to lift the truck any more, just level the front.
3-Thinking of going to a 285/70-18 tire. Sounds like there will not be rubbing from what I've read, or maybe I should go 275/70-18 to be sure.
    4-Is a diff drop recommended?

2019 Platinum with tow pkg and rear sway bar. 35k miles

    Thanks folks!

I put 5100’s on my front, lowest setting for just under 1” of lift. The expected lift according to Bilstein was .9” iirc, so they were spot on. I reused the stock springs. I do light towing occasionally, so this left some rake, a little over an inch, but you have to look real close to notice it's not level. 275/70’s rubbed after the lift at full lock, a RCI skid plate eliminated that. It rubbed on the outside edge of the factory front skid plate. Could have modified the plate, but had the beefier RCI on order.

    Not sure at this point.
    1. It’ll all depend, but I’m sure you’ll get close to the middle setting measurements. Best bet is to just measure BEFORE you lift and after you lift.

    2. I ran 5100s front only for about a week and that leveled look wasn’t for me. You mentioned that you have a cap; that’s added weight to your bed. I’d suggest running shackles too, so that way your Tundra wouldn’t look like it’s squatting when you have some weight on your bed.

    3. 285/70 will probably rub slightly. Most times it’ll be your mud flaps or OEM skid plate. It won’t be anything major.

    4. No, not unless if you’re going 3”+.

Just recently did what you are looking to do.
275 70 r18 +25 offset had to remove front mud flaps.

Stock for now, but have TRD Rear Sway bar for it.
Do the 5100s on the middle setting with a coachbuilder shim, 1 on the passenger side and 2 on the driver side. I did exactly this on my platinum before and put on 275/60r20 Falken tires. Looked and rode amazingly. I am struggling right now with what to do to my new truck in the front. But you will LOVE the 5100s on the middle setting. I did the shims, just cause I wanted to, but not necessary.

KIMG0260.jpg5100s middle clip, 275/70/18, +25 offset, no diff drop, no rubbing. Bilstein specs on height are spot on, love the way it turned out.

5100s middle setting. Measured 37.5” from ground to fender on both driver and passenger fronts and then 39” from ground to fender on both driver and passenger rears

Do you suppose this will hold true even though I have stock TRD wheels with +60 (I think) offset?
