The Tundras is a true domestic made truck vs the other sort of domestic made trucks.

I guess we will see. I put a front diff on my Tundra at ~68k, and the squealing started much earlier. Never have I done something like that on any vehicle, Toyota, dodge, Chevy, Honda. To date, my GM products have outlasted my Tundra.

I agree with this, I wouldn't say gm trucks are complete crap. I had a 2014 Silverado before my Tundra and it was a good truck to me and I worked it hard. Needed a double cab and the Tundra rear seat was larger then the Chevy for my daughters car seat so hear I am. I also have a 2012 Tacoma that at 53k had the air injection valves fail and left my wife and daughter stuck in limp mode trying to get home. Toyota pretty much told me to pack sand...I have never had a failure like that on any vehicle I have owned before 100k so take it for what its worth. Toyota isn't perfect either, doesn't mean there not good trucks but they have issues to just like everyone else.

Don't get me wrong, the Tundra is an awesome truck and would only recommend one due to a few reasons, but I also find it funny that some people think the Tundra hung the moon @treihing  .....

My experience with all the Japanese, German, American and English cars and SUVs I have owned. If the vehicle gives you problems in the first 6-8 months of owning, it has to go. I don't spend $$$ on it thinking it will last, it doesn't. Once it starts, it doesn't stop.

It all comes down to most truck owners are very brand loyal. This is what my dad and grandpa drove so that is what I will drive. I very rarely heard of people that switch to Toyota that have any complaints. It's just the initial issue of the mental "anguish" of buying a Jap truck.

From what I can tell there is no longer any American, Japanese, German ..... car manufactures any more. They are all built, made, and assembled in numerous counties around the world from third party companies and then stamped with whatever car company name.

So I have no brand loyalty to any new car just the old muscle cars of yesteryear which would be Ford.

Funny, my Dad was a die hard Ford man. I seen him working on his cars every weekend spending valuable money just to have it running the following week. So that naturally made me a Chevy guy. My Dad was so pissed I couldn't park it in the driveway or use the tools.

Finally my Dad came around, and actually purchased a Chevy Capris Classic. He sold it a year later stating it used to much gas. I personally think he missed the "out" he got when working on Fords.

Then something amazing happened. He would always say "jap" crap cars and how front wheel drive cars are junk...etc. Well finally he was tired of working on cars and Ford screwed him over on an AC recharge. He drove his Ford across the street and purchased a Toyota Camry and has been more happy than a Labrador Retriever in water. Owned Toyota vehicles ever since.

My uncle is a big Chevy guy always drove one, always will. He worked on his own cars and didn't want to have to buy new metric tools to work on a foreign car. Feels the same way about his motorcycle, will only drive a Harley, won't touch those foreign bikes. His wife now drives a Prius and I've heard him say it's a great car. I don't see him switching over anytime soon as he currently drives a 3500 and couldn't go down to a 1/2 ton.

I will give it to you, my wife had a 97 Chevy Cavalier while we were in college, and we drove the piss out of it with nothing more than oil changes. I used to drive it across the state twice a week for work. When I sold it it had 220,000 miles on it. I can't say this represents all GM products, but that one was a trooper.

Except almost all newer cars are metric now LOL. Other than my first two cars which were a Toyota and a Honda that were handed down to me, I've always been an American car guy. No real brand bias it just had to be one of the big 3. And I drove all three and enjoyed them other than the problems they gave me. Although my Dodge was a good truck and still is, my mom drives it now. But I wasn't into the new ones. And while driving each of those I was all about that brand LOL. But upon my search for a new truck I ended up at Toyota, it just made the most sense and I couldn't be happier. As long as Toyota continues putting out stuff like this, im a Toyota man. All my friends kind of hate on me for it but IDGAF! I'm the one that made it better investment and if I choose to trade it in I will lose much less money than they will. I'll also be the one less likely to be on the back of a tow truck or stuck in the middle of nowhere because of a ridiculous problem that should never of happened.

Yeah, I remember him saying that back probably almost 20 years ago.

I think we're all here because in the end, nothing appealed to us like the Tundra. I owned Toyota prior to owning one Dodge... that I sold with 268,000 on it and it's still going strong. It was a great truck but a new one just didn't appeal to me like the Tundra did. Neither did Ford. Chevy, while they don't appeal to me much either, my refusal to buy one is politically motivated. I also have friends who hate on my Tundra, some subtly, some not so much. What's funny is when they talk about what's so great about their trucks they talk about stuff like LED lighting, air ride suspension, headrest DVD's, WIFI, blind spot monitoring and heated steering wheels. So, nothing that actually "makes" the truck and some of it makes people worse drivers. I know how to use my mirrors, I can parallel park on my own, I don't need an overhead view of my vehicle, I don't need WIFI as I have computers at home and work that don't eat up my data and a heated steering wheel....whatever, pussy! I love the "truck ride" of my Tundra and the simplicity of it.

Awesome! I'm sort of old school so I don't need all that crap either.
