iTunes constantly freezes and crashes when I try to load music into it.
What are y'all using to manage music on your iPhones?

If you're an Android user, good for you, I like my iPhone.

    TIA..

Honestly, I've had pretty much no issues on my iPhone; I think iTunes has crashed literally once in all the years I've used it.

    Look up Vox and Evermusic.

Spotify. You can download albums/podcasts so you can access them when you don't have service too. Well worth the $5/month or whatever it is now.

I have over 5K of song files on my computer hard drive.
I need a way to transfer and manage them to/on my phone..

I hear you, but Spotify probably has that same 5K sitting on their servers that I can access without taking up space on my phone.

If you're dead set on moving those files over you could try to back up your iTunes library, do a fresh install, import your library and see if it works better.

That's what I'm doing, trying to start fresh without a bunch of songs I don't need on my phone.
I spent a month cleaning up, retagging, and deleting bad files.
I cleared iTunes out, and I'm trying to import them back in.
This is where it keeps freezing up.

Once uploaded the majority of the music sits on the iCloud, it doesn't stay on the phone.
Storage isn't an issue, there isn't much on my phone anyway, just pics and music, most of it sits in the cloud.

I'll try a new iTunes install tonight, I probably should have done that in the first place.
But from what I read, Apple doesn't support iTunes anyone for Windows.
Seems to be a thing of the past....

    Thanks for the help..

Looks like you can get the latest version of iTunes from the Microsoft store, I think Apple still supports it. Good luck! https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210384

I've got a Plex server running at home with all media on a local NAS. There are different ways you could set this up, but I VPN to the house and use the phone's app to access; IE no files on my device. Plex is also integrated with Android Auto, so high likelihood that it's on Car Play, or could be installed.

If you take a Q-Tip soaked with a little alcohol, and clean the needle, it sounds so much better! You're welcome.
