Sensor between #2 and #4 coil packs, pulled connector apart

Hi Guys,
I was changing my spark plugs today and pulled the wires out of the connector for I think a camshaft sensor? It's between the #2 and #4 coil packs. Three wires, red, black and yellow. Looking for the order they go in the connector. I'm a new member, looking forward to frequenting this site more. Thank you to anyone helping an old man.

 

I believe it is going to be the D6 Camshaft Position Sensor. However this one is at the front of the drivers side valve/cam cover. Which would be in front of Coil Pack #1.

You are saying between Coil pack #2 and #4 which I think would be passenger side. If you post a picture showing which side and confirming wire color as solid red, solid black, and solid yellow. I know I can find it. Im not 100% convinced this is the one you are talking about exactly.

Pin#1: G2 Red
Pin#2: G- Black
Pin#3: VC Yellow




Located here where the RED arrow is pointed.

 

Does this help? Digging around I think it's the VVT Exhaust position sensor.

There should be a corresponding sensor and connector on the other side of the engine. I would bet they are colored the same way.

 

Thank you Jeff_5_7 and thearborbarbe for your quick response. It's on the passenger side underneath the air intake flexible duct. I was thinking passenger side of vehicle is even numbered cylinders. Looks like there is 4 of these sensors, 2 on each side. It's the one closest to the exhaust side on the valve cover. I'm going to look at my brothers 12 tundra. Soldered the pins to the wires. Wire colors are Red/ blue stripe, black and yellow. Checked soldered connection, good. Truck still revs around 1400 rpms. As you look at the connector, with the release tab facing you. Going left to right, Red/blue- black-yellow? You guys that help others like me are saints.

 

Hi again guys,
I looked at my brothers 12 Tundra. Wires go Red/blue stripe then black then yellow. RPMs are lowering more as I drive it. Had to resolder the red wire again, checked continuity and all good. Thank you for your help, problem is solved.

 

Its going to be connector D41, VVT Sensor Bank 2 Exhaust Side.

Pin#1: EX Red Blue Stripe
Pin#2: EX- Black
Pin#3: VC2 Yellow




I believe this photo is looking into the connector with the release tab at the top. Pin#1 Left, Pin#2 Middle, Pin#3 Right. Notice some of the lineup and casting plastic lines in the plastic, that should help your orient it correctly.
