Yea, plug your seat belt in. :)

In all seriousness. Some have reported that their dealer service turned it off while others have said their dealer refuses.

Takes about 5 minutes to turn off using Toyotas Techstream software. Sometimes people can talk dealers into doing it from them as they have Techstream computers as the dealers.

Some forum members have computers with the software also but its expensive. You just need to find someone with it and they can easily turn it off. This is the only way I know how to do it.

My buddy bought a $30 cable off Amazon and turned mine off. Also changed my turn signal to blink 6 times instead of 3. Few other things like messing with the thermostat so recirculate doesn’t shut off.

best and most affordable solution w/out changing programming below.

get the seat belt extender from the dealer, they're free due to "safety". they're available in 8", 10", and 12" lengths if i remember correctly. tell them it's needed for a car seat, or very fat uncle.

my dealer did charge me a $4.95 shipping fee. i think i got the 12", but it really doesn't matter.

the dealer will require a VIN.

disclaimer: this is only used when there's a heavy box in my passenger seat.
