I wanna put a smoked third brake light on my 2019 sport but was just wondering if it is a pain to replace or if they’ve changed how it’s mounted

They are a huge pain to replace. Definitely best off tinting the lense that's on there. With film or spray. Some guys use plastidip even

So what’s the major hang up , is it that there’s nuts on the back side under the headliner ?

The 3rd brake light itself is only 2-4 screws... I used VHT Niteshade and tinted mine as a DIY... turned out great I think

It’s still a pain. If you have a CM it isn’t horrible. I know it’s a lot of money for a lens, but I bought the light smoked lens from Klearz. I’ve had it for s couple years and am happy with it. It still looks like it did when I first installed it. All the aftermarket ones I’ve had have yellowed over time.

Yes.... but worth the money to not have to deal with the hassle of dropping the headliner and risk of it leaking water.

    Hello!

I bought the Enzo third brake light smoke and realizing how this is a huge pain and it does look like you have to get the nuts behind the headliner.

it just looks like the easiest thing would be just to replace the lens. The body of the stock third brake light is black and the body of the aftermarket third brake light is chrome which is pretty stupid.

it would just make sense to replace the lens only.

are there any other updates anyone has found to get a new lens besides the one mentioned?

    thanks!

I have been looking into this. Looks like the only options to purchase one is the one from klearz or I found one on ebay. When I first bought my truck and had it wrapped but its getting foggy looking.

I went whole hog on mine. Used all the OEM parts but tinted the lens all red, then smoked so it looks all uniform.

then i removed the unit and rewired the assembly all the same to be one uniform 3rd brake light. eliminating the cargo lights

I have AUX cargo lights anyways and wanted a different custom but OEM look
