I have been to the store and back a few times in the past weeks. Im looking to detail the interior of my trd pro (all black) ive used leather wipes and armor all wipe but it just leaves a film and unless i use a dozen wipes that are moist it leaves a very uneven finish almost greasy marks. Is there anything i can use that wont leave smears or any sort of residual film?

I use the 303 stuff and Nextzett cockpit premium. Both work great.

I’ve got the blue bottle, I’ve read it’s more geared towards world peace

    303 is the ticket!
I use the blue bottle too, not sure what the difference is, it’s just what my NAPA had.

I like Chemical Guys interior cleaner/protectant. No residue.

I have not tried the Aerospace blue…. But I like their white bottle for exterior.

What do you guys like about the blue bottle product?

The 303 Aerospace is what I use on my Tonneau cover... Excellent stuff for the exterior.

    PXL_20220411_214731814.jpg

But I use Wurth cockpit care for the interior. This is the most pleasantly mild scented, non greasy, no streaking, and effective interior care product I've found.

The 303 is a little robust on the interior for my liking.

I don't believe there's any difference between the white and blue bottles other than target marketing... Blue for car automotive and white for boating/camping/etc. Blue or white = 303

I like Meguir's Ultimate Interior Detailer. 303 Aerospace is good for exterior and floor mats, but it leaves too slick of a finish for the interior according to me. Can't speak to performance on leather though.

Everything mentioned here is just taking money from your wallet and putting it is someone else's wallet. As a retired auto, marine and aviation detailer of over 30 years I used exclusively a few drops of dish soap in a spray bottle of water and a quality microfiber cloth and that's really all you need. Anything labeled a "protectant" is merely using unnecessary chemicals that have no place in your vehicle. What is it protecting from? UV, dirt, finger prints, spilt coffee, your kids puke? Protectants are already built into the dash and other plastics and almost all automotive glass is UV protectant. Most anything is easily removed with soap and water. Most "protectants" are actually damaging to cloth, vinyl, rubber, plastics and leather. Keep it simple and keep it clean and you'll be good to go and have plenty of beer money at the end of the day.

And for heavens sake stay away, far far away, from anything marked Armor All or Turtle Wax. They're the Huffy of detailing products.

Warm water on high quality microfiber towel wrung out to clean/dust. 303 to protect and rehydrate dry dash/plastic.

And huffy just sucks, even when I was 12.
This is what I use, it doesnt have any perfumes or dyes or anything that can harm your truck. Its good for plastics, fabrics, leather, even use it like a glass cleaner on the damn touch screen and the headliner!! On plastics I mist is on, brush it to a foam with boars hair to get the crud out of the texture, then wipe clean (and no fancy microfiber on the inside, just an old plain white T

With all due respect please explain this theory to me. From what I’ve heard leather benefits from being maintained to prevent cracking and creases. Are you telling me to wash my leather seats with dish soap and warm water and it’ll last? That seems weird to me. Dish soap should be avoided when washing the exterior of your car to prevent it from doing damage to your clear coat. Wouldn’t that do the same thing to leather?

Yes. Leather needs conditioning to stay in good shape. Lexol is great for this. It is also important to keep leather clean.

UV does damage to interior materials. 303 has real uv protection. Many 'protectants' have little to no uv blocking additives.

It does take a toll on the interior. A quality sunshade for the windshield is also advised.

I've nowhere near your experience, and I agree with your stance on Armor All. Where we differ is where we stand on Turtle Wax. Their new Hybrid Solutions line has some decent products, and their new Inside Job interior detail spray is excellent. It is very good for light duty cleaning, has a good scent, leaves a nice matte finish, and so far, does not attract as much dust as other products I've used.

Turtle wax new products have gotten consistent positive reviews from even experienced detailers. They really stepped up their game with the hybrid line. I have been impressed, especially with the Ice Spay Wax. Nothing kept my Rav4 plastic trim looking decent more than one wash. This is still looking good months later. I didn't even know it could be applied to ext plastic but other Rav owners turned me on to it.

I use Lexol on leather and 303 on plastic, vinyl etc. I have seen 303 make a difference in protecting surfaces in car/trucks. As
ToyoMafia said, a quality or custom sunshade make a huge difference in protecting your dash/interior for many years.
