Does anyone know of anyone installing a kill switch, if so where, what kind, any info helpful, looking for extra security measure against stolen vehicle.

Hmm, I was just thinking the same thing. It would be awesome to go old school and have a hidden switch in the cab.

Do something crazy and don't use a switch. Wire it to a turn signal or something so you can only turn on if your holding down the turn signal stalk as you try to turn on the truck.

No. I'm not in a high crime area. I will consider something similar if I wind up getting a Challenger as planned. They are a hot car for dirt bags. I just wish the ravelco looks less terrible. Especially for what the damn things cost.

It doesn't look good anywhere. Not sure where it is has to be located, but only ever seen it on the dash. If it didn't look so cheap or if it could be hidden in the glove box or console I would be happier with it.

Ah, and the Ravelco can be defeated. There is a Russian/Ukranian video of it being beaten with a couple voltage testers and a jumper of wire. It'd take time, but I imagine the video will spread and dirt bags will start defeating these as well as traditional kill switches, alarms, etc.

Maybe the one they defeated was one of the knock offs, and IDK how involved it all was. I still think the Ravelco might be the best option. Won't prevent a broken window, damage to the steering column, theft of valuables, or a tow away theft, but it will foil most of the basic idiots that would try to steal a vehicle.

Those crafty Ruskies. Good for car theft and hacking

    Two things:
The location isn't bad. I think a prominent location is good to deter a jacker from tearing up your ride too much. I guess if he's pissy he can't take it he could wanna take it out on your stuff anyway but it could also keep him from trying to do anything in the first place. The window stickers are part of that deterrence.

Second, check out their testimonials section. It's loaded with actual pics of attempts and personal accounts of what didn't happen (auto theft). I liked it a lot better than some schmuck who gave them 3 stars only because "it has the aesthetics of a salt and pepper shaker".

I used to have to park in a very dodgy area and had an old sedan that I drilled a hole in the middle of the dash and had a ridiculously big toggle switch on it.
It got windows smashed and cylinder locks screwdrivered many times but it never got stolen, they just didn't think such an obvious switch did anything serious.

I had installed a dead switch in my Land Cruiser. All I did was use two HD bosch relays to interrupt the ignition and crank wires. Then I took the cigarette lighter socket apart and used it as my switch. When the lighter was normal (not pressed in to heat up) the truck was dead. Push click the lighter in (to normally heat it up) and that would engage the relays and the truck functions 100% normal with the key. It of course, does not function as a lighter anymore but you can't start the truck without it, and there's nothing to indicate anything is wrong... Just dead.
