After reading though about half of these, it's no wonder Tundra will never compete with the big 3.

So you got out of the Ram because it rode too rough for your back, but you want Toyota to put that same engine into the Tundra? You do realize that in order to handle a 1000+ lbs Cummins, the Tundra would also have to ride rough as well due to the beefed up suspension.

Basically they need to do everything they just did with the Tacoma, except put a real engine in it.

Good point but I'm hoping my back improves and the main reason for dumping the Ram was cutting cost. I used the equity in my Ram and Tacoma to purchase my Pro.

A diesel killing gasser would be kinda cool. Something like a 7.5 or so liter I Force.

Let's not forget a remote start that doesn't shut down when you open the door. How stupid.

On the crewmax, they need to put the under the rear seat storage back in. As to engine, they need to adopt what other manufacturers have done such as GM has called active fuel management. That's where once you are at highway speeds where you are on cruise control or just maintaining speed, it shuts down 4 cyclinders and I was getting over 20 mpg on my Silverado. As to the stereo. JBL is just awful, I miss my Bose system in my last truck to the point where I am thinking about ripping it out and putting a better system in there. I think my last gripe is if you want cool air, you have to run the AC, even if you set it to cold without the AC on, you get air that is warmer than is comfortable. I bought a top of the line platinum and it shocked me that it didn't come stock with remote start, I had to add it via my Viper alarm system. Don't get me wrong, I love my Tundra, I just think it's lacking as compared to some of the other truck makers.

Actually I was looking at the Silverado, my last two trucks were Silverados. They messed up the body change in 2014 and that's what pushed me to the Tundra. That said, the Tundra was about $5k more and I lose over 5 mpg on the Tundra. That said I love the Tundra, I just wish it was better as far as options.

Fuck that. I bought a truck for power, not for mileage. And I drive a GMC 1/2 ton for work and that sure as hell doesn't help me much.

And idk about yours, but if I leave mine on coldest setting and the fan off it'll still run ice cold air.

Uh, no.....nothing but problems with AFM. Not worth it for any type of gas savings.

Agree on the JBL...it has potential, but is woefully lacking in power.

My last truck was a 2011 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab LTZ. It had a 5.3l V8 and believe me when I say it moved and had plenty of power. When you are at speed, you don't really need power as you put it. The instant you hit the gas, it's back. No delay and no hesitation. I leave the vent on the lowest setting with the AC off and it blows warm air at best.

Disagree. The 2013 5.3 I have will barely pull a 4,000 lb trailer at 65 mph let alone at 70, and I have to keep my foot in it for it to do that. Also it takes me mashing pedal to the floor for it to accelerate even at a normal pace when I have that trailer behind me. For having AFM I only get 15-16 MPG driving dirt roads almost all the time, my Tundra would generally do 14-16 when it was my DD with a 40-50 something more HP engine.

I'm not expert on the matter of AC but I'd wonder if settings are different on your 17 or somethings wrong, as I have no complaints with my 08.

With a few exceptions, the vast majority of these requests for Toyota changes could be summarized as getting more or most available options and upgrades available in multiple configurations and packages . Right now it sucks you can only get this and this with that model, etc.

Absolutely not. My last truck was a 2011 Silverado with AFM. Burnt oil like crazy. I traded it in when the GM dealer told me it was designed to burn a quart of oil every 2,000 miles. They can take AFM and shove it.

My last Chevy was a 2011 Silverado. Major POS. At like 52,000 miles, The power booster for the master brake cylinder failed, which allowed brake fluid to flow into the engine and catch fire. Not covered by warranty. I'm done with Chevy forever.

Hmmm lemme see... how about just a whaa burger to go with all the French cries.... I love my tundra. Short bed and auto down windows are cool with me. I knew what I bought when I drove off the lot. If I wanna fit more for a trip, I'll hook up the trailor. If I wanna see my window buttons, I'll turn on the dome light, if I want brighter lights, I'll add some pods, if I want better gas mileage then I won't drive like a fucking tard.... ps I like driving like a tard. If I want heated seats, I'll turn on the heater 15 minutes before I get in it... I'm sure you where I'm going with this. I just take it all in stride. When I get home and hop out of my truck, I always do a double take cause she's sexy as hell...

Can't agree more. I'm w u on mods and what's available from Toyota. Coming from v8 & v12 German sport Sedans, I can whine all day long but anything happens at the end...nada

What matters to me is my truck doesn't breakdown in the middle of nowhere or doesn't give me problems regularly which obviously I hate the most.

I guess compared to the stories, I was lucky with my last two silverados. The two I had were solid. That said, I love my Tundra as well. All there is to it.

True story man. The suddle mods that aren't really seen are the best part. Couple bucks at a time will give you a rig with more options then a Bentley lol
