Finally finished the steering wheel control installation. I’ve been done but waiting for replacement airbag to come in. I tried cutting my own and it didn’t work out so well, so then just chopped it up to get the controls to fit so I could finish the install.

    1 or 2... I lost count
If you are ever bored, twist the DRL connector out of the headlight housing, turn it on for about 2 mins, then grab it. The thing gets flipping hot :bananadead:!!! Ask me how I know

Where and how much did you pay for the airbag?

Also we’re the controls plug and play?

You can replace that light socket with one from Autozone. I did the same thing when I bought my truck and swapped all the bulbs to LED's. Also, I disabled the DRL so I wouldn't have to worry about it melting again.

Put together a basic recovery/survival kit for the sequoia. Main goal was to not take up much room and every is stowed away the the rear trunk compartment. Looking for a good bottle jack and I'm sure I can improve on what I have. Any suggestions?

This is one of the few threads I watch. Lower control arms coming soon. Stuck between upgrading or going with Toyota OEM. If I upgrade, I’m looking at Total Chaos or dirt king. I already have TC UCA’s, but the price difference is significant.

Did an oil and filter change today. After reading tons of threads on here about oil weights, I decided to switch from 0w-20 to 5w-30. Noticeable difference. Much smoother, much quieter.

Today: Changed the rear diff fluid.
Took a trans fluid sample....it's in need of a complete change!
Earlier in the week I got the new spare onboard. Placed a 1.5" pvc pipe section between the bed edge and the brace just to the rear of the spare tire winch. Now the jack handle sections slide in it and right in to the receptacle on the winch!

Replaced my battery terminals. Both were in really rough shape and the negative wouldn't tighten on the post enough. Now I can easily run power to my winch and other accessories as well.

Installed a set of Alpharex Pro's to replace the original reflectors that: A) weren't very compatible with my Lasfit LEDs, and B) have started to haze-up pretty badly over the past few months.

The instructions were mediocre, at best, but got it figured out. It pays to read their install guide step-by-step-by-step, as well as the posts here which mention "Alpharex".

NOTE: the turn signal/amber DRL from the old units MUST be installed in the Alpha Pros where the white sticker covers their socket ... and then, the three-pin Toyota socket plugs into your OEM turn signal/amber DRL ... and then, the three-pin male socket on the Alpha side plugs into the corresponding three-pin female socket on the Alpha side forming "a loop". This corrects the fast-blink turn signal (ask me how I know).

I wired mine without the optional DRL brightness-harness. I'm pretty happy with the dim DRL and don't see the need, really. I did drop my Lasfit low-beams ("H11/H8/H9" as listed on their website) into the Alphas and made a couple of pigtails using parts sourced from O'Reilly ... so, no OEM or Alpha wiring was cut, and everything is tucked away behind the sealed covers, to permit use of the Alpha connector for the low beams. And, I can easily switch back to halogens if I were ever to decide to. Easy.

Parts used to solder-up the pigtails // and, the finished product:

Went to install my rear TRD sway bar snd realized they shorted me one of the spacers. So I'm driving around -2 hitch bolts until I get that figured out. On the bright side, my new 1/2" Ridgid impact wrench (1500 lbs. breakaway torque; insert Tim Allen manly grunt here) made short work of them. But until I figure something out there, it's on hold. I'm going to call tomorrow to see if I might be able to find one locally, but otherwise I might have to improvise and find something similar or pack it with washers...

I did manage to get my phone holder installed. The original plan was to do the arm, but I couldn't find a place I liked it, so I'll probably just roll with the vent clip. Also installed my USB adapter so I can use the factory USB outlet rather than running a cable from behind the deck to somewhere I can access it (it had been just down and up the driver's side footwell). No total pics here... It's hard to get a picture OF my phone WITH my phone to post!

I went with the DesertWest holder that someone else in here had used: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08G4ZNRGP?ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

It feels pretty solid. I have a Motorola which is relatively large and heavy.

Alibaba TRD grill and paint matched grill surround project finally complete. One step closer to killing the chrome!

In other news, I ordered front and rear off-road bumpers. So the last of the chrome will be gone soon. Ordered some more Diode Dynamics lighting for the bumpers as well. The truck will also be going into the body shop within the next month to get the new bed painted and popped on. I think my bed rack will be getting a re-design once the new bed goes on. A lot happening with the slurp, but I need to get it done before the fall hunting season - sneaking up quickly!

how did you prep grill? What kind of paint did you use? I inquired about this at a local body shop and he recommended getting another non chrome grill, saying it would just peel off the chrome finish

I mean...it's got a $400k starting retail price, so I'd assume so! Not a boat guy either, but that'll change (in theory) in a few weeks if our Yamaha on order shows up...
