As I get closer to the delivery date (sometime this week!) for my new '22 Tundra, I wanted a place to journal how my Tundra evolves over time.

My story begins late December trying to work with my local dealership. After about a month of back and forth and getting absolutely nowhere I decided to look elsewhere. After a quick response from an online inquiry a dealer about 100 miles away quickly earned my business and on February 1st I put down a deposit. A short time later I got a call that they had an allocation for the Tundra I wanted with a build date of 3/14. So off I went and sold them my '17 SR5 for really good money and the wait began. I'm gonna miss her ...
    IMG_20180224_102630337_HDR.jpg
    My allocation:
    • SR5 Crewmax 5.5' bed
    • Lunar Rock w/Black Softex
    • TRD off-road premium package
    • TRD convenience package
    • Console safe
    • Bedmat
    • All weather floor liners
    ETA is this week, 12th-15th

With all the anticipation and a couple months without a truck payment I decided I couldn't wait for the truck to get here and the mod bug bit.

    Pre-ordered the Westcott Designs lift.
Ordered a set of Black Rhino Rapids in Bronze. 18x9 with a +12 offset.

Also ordered from our vendor TVD the front bumper letters and TRD grill letters in Bronze to match the wheels

Those wheels look great! Good luck with the RG’s. My’19 Tundra came with them and I thought they sucked so bad my first mod on my ‘21 was getting rid of them.

Thanks! I looked for weeks it seemed before deciding on these. Not that it really mattered to me but they are only 26lbs a piece! I guess to each their own, I replaced the BFG all-terrains I had and replaced them with RGs on my previous Tundra and loved them 5 times over.

Truck arrived on Tuesday the 12th and went thru the PDI process and was ready for delivery the next day. Here she sat at the dealership and the first time I laid eyes on her.

I promise I'll add more when it's nice and clean. I'll show the "poke" since I'm sure everyone will ask. I'll show some more on the color match also. Next up, tailgate letter inserts. Future plans....sliders and more

Negative, I took it to a shop. Gonna have to take it back they did some sloppy work on the lower driver side piece.

I kind of forgot I had this thread going haha, also I've been crazy busy with work lately and haven't put much into the truck lately. But today I got my cover installed.

    Gator SFX tri-fold.
Great product for the cost, I'd recommend it to anyone that's looking for a simple way to cover your bed. The fitment is great, the install was literally like 30 minutes and that's only cause I'm was a little OCD with the initial alignment/placement. It looks GREAT.

Next up on the list is some steps, strongly considering the quick and easy route with some GoRhino DSS steps but something tells me I want some custom bolt on sliders more haha

Did the Westcott Designs lift make your suspension stiffer and change the feel of the ride, or does it still feel like factory just taller?

I would try and get more opinions than just mine on this because I only drove it stock for about 400 miles and 300 of them were on the highway to Phoenix to get it lifted by Westcott Designs. But to answer your question, I think it rides great. There are only a couple situations where I can definitely say you can tell it is altered and it is quite rough and those are going over speed bumps or railroad tracks at any speed other than slow.

Instructions were half decent but I took my time and still installed in about 45 minutes. Having the lift (access to the shop at work) was definitely a help.

Figured some might have more questions or requests for pics of the surface area...I feel like there is enough space to step safely (size 12 shoe) and they tuck close enough if I choose to not use them getting in or out.

I’m not sure what the part number is unfortunately. It came with my truck from Toyota already black.

No need to worry about popping it off. I appreciate it though. I'll look around.
