This is largely a "good news" report after driving my SR5 for 2 weeks which included a trip from Olympia, WA to San Fransisco, CA. The obligatory 1000-mile break-in occurred while driving the 734 miles south. No major issues whatsoever on the drive down, even with the 35s on the truck, mileage averaged 17.5 MPG.

Idiosyncrasy of the fuel gauge throughout the trip was @ 1/4 tank remaining on the truck, a complete fill up only netted 20-23 gallons on all 3 of the full tank fill-ups. 1/2 tank fill ups typically only netted 12 gallons or so. Yes I have the 34 gallon tank.

After break-in the truck was noticeably smoother and felt quicker from a stop (that could just be me becoming more familiar with the truck).

On the way back, with about 600lbs loaded in the back, tarped, etc. my mileage suffered quite a bit, averaged 15.9 MPG. Thus why I ordered my Diamondback SE on Wednesday due for delivery on next Thursday.

Also, a strange harmonic rattle started occurring at the right front of the windshield...it isn't loud, just a little annoying, if could have been the changes in the road surfaces of I-5 Northbound, but it announced itself about 50 miles from home. Haven't heard it since.

I updated my head unit software while in California and noticed that the frequency of "Enter your Pin" message popped up at least 5 times on the drive back AND Android Auto Wireless stopped working twice while on the road. Not sure if is due to the software update but I never had this many problems prior to the software update.

No problems with the auto-high beams at night/morning. No badge "peeling" back, no issues with the 35 Coopers. LOVE the radar/LTA cruise control for loooonnnngggg stretches of highway.

Overall I am extremely happy with this road trip and the truck's overall performance and comfort (wife and 2 full sized dogs were happy too).

Last word on interior comforts...the standard dog "sling" for the rear seats worked great except for my dogs drooling all over the interior door trim. A single Amazon purchase later and I am happy man!

Nice to hear that you enjoy your new truck on the road trip. Going to be taking my 2022 across the border next month to Toronto, Ontario Canada. About 450 miles one way. Curious on how the MPG will be. Currently getting about 16mpg with mostly city driving on a stock TRD sport. So I'm sure it'll be better cruising at highway speed.

So far, the trucks feels smoother on the road than my old 2015 Tundra limited, pretty excited to see how it does on longer trips.

FYI, the large tank on the 2022 tundra is a 32.2 gal tank. I drove my truck till the gas light came on and filled up just over 26 gal. Guessing 6 gal reserve is kinda like the previous gen.

I can't help but wonder if the pin # thing or user problems are due to using Android auto or the apple variant. I don't care for it, so I haven't used it at all and have never had a single issue with sign in, user, pin etc. Maybe you should disable that and see if the issues go away.

Well I found as I’ve gotten older my tank has gotten bigger but I can’t go as far.

Seriously though the SR model has a smaller tank
