    2008 Tundra Limited 5.7

I originally threw P0335 Code. Changed the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Went away.
When i went to start, it only clicked. Using Jumper cables, I could crank but not start.
New battery, new Crankshaft sensor....Now throws a P0300 code, which is vague. also shows a C1201 from the diagnostics.

Plugs look good, coils look good. I think the fuel filter is in the tank so didnt check that yet.

    Any thoughts?

When you try to start it did you hear one click or many clicks. If you heard just one click its your starter. I had the same issue codes pop up saying change your crankshaft sensor if its many clicks i have no clue lol good luck...

Interesting thought. Yes, it was one click. However, by jumping it, it turned over but doesn't start. I put a gas pressure gauge on the driver side fuel supply and nothing. No fuel... The fuel pump fuse has 12 v in and out.. I'm wondering if my fuel pump failed???

Disconnected the power for 30min and see and try. If its only one click im 100% your starter is gone. It was hard to start for me also at first...

If it doesn't start than turn the key to ON do not start and listening for the fuel pump it should be on to prime the system. If you hear it than turn the key to ON position multiply times to fully prime the system and than start it. If uts start fine its the check valve.

    P0335 is Crankshaft position A
    P0300 is Random Cylinder Misfire
If the truck Cranked and ran before sensor replacement it should run now cause a crank sensor has nothing to do with continuous cranking is it possible you could had run your battery down or possible bad cell in the battery try installing a fresh battery Toyota’s go brain dead when battery drains so when you go start it up make sure all accessories are off including AC and let it idle for 10-15 minutes till it relearns

Stupid question, but, did you plug in the new sensor? Or not plug in anything else related to the ignition system in the process of replacing the crank sensor?

If I had to guess, you cranked it once, failed, if you were to crank it 7 more times it might possibly start. Also, if perhaps the new sensor is bad or not reading and fails an internal test in the ECM or it doesn't see it some vehicles will cut the fuel supply.

If its one click that the solenoid in the starter thats bad. I had the same exact problem one try to start just a click and another click. Than it started barley check engine light was on but i got code crankshaft sensor. So i replace it and did it again click click than i replace starter everything was fine. But you might have another underlying problem going on here...

@larlap Did you install a genuine Toyota or aftermarket crank sensor? How was the connector / wiring?

Thanks for all your feedback! New battery. Single click start has been a low battery. Something is draining it. I'm charging it now.
I was not getting fuel to the fuel rail. I disconnected the fuel quick connect and put the key to on. No fuel. I swapped the relays. BUT....When I engage the the ignition to ON, no fuel comes out. When I crank it, fuel gushes out. I though the fuel pump ran to the ON position!
The Crankshaft Sensor was a model by Holstien. It was well rated.
So, now I'm stuck again. Not sure where the ASD relay is but that's where I'm heading. Still confused why fuel isn't sent on the ON key position and sends fuel when cranking. BTW, the cranking lasts for about 10 seconds and stops. As if it's not getting spark....
The crankshaft sensor clip seated well and clicked. The wiring looked fine behind the protective plate. The code crankshaft code went away. I did the continuity test on the old sensor pins and nothing was shorting.

    Any other ideas?

It's cranking, sending fuel while cranking, only code is the 300, just not firing...

Maybe try spare key to start the truck. Yes the fuel pump should be running on the ON position.

    X2.
If the anti theft system thinks it's being stolen, there wont be any fuel pump action with the key on because the pickup will think it's being stolen.

Unless Toyota uses a starter lockout instead, then the key may not make a difference to the fuel pump persay.

More good thoughts. Thanks. Update...I used the spare key, reset the door locks, closed doors, unlocked. Tested the 7.5 a fuses under e brake. Swapped both relays that control the fuel pump. Well, now it cranks and fires a brief hit during the cranking. I smell gas. It actually sounds like a misfire... I reset the ECM and it still immediately shows the 300 code. I had the battery disconnected for an hour too. I might try to put the old crankshaft sensor in to see if the new one isn't compatible? SO FRUSTRATING!!!

It’s normal that the fuel pump isn’t running until cranking.

Good idea on re-trying your old CPS. If it starts with that, even if it codes P0335 again, I’d say try a new OEM sensor.

Update... I put in the old original crankshaft sensor.....IT STARTED... SO, I think the new sensor was not compatible. It did throw a Processor error and run rich bank 1 error. But, I reset all the codes and let it run for an hour. Seems good for now. I'm back to where I started....I'll wait for the cycles to run their course to see if an new error code presents itself.... THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK!!

Actually it is for a brief second to prime the system like a faint humming noise.. When you turn the key to ON.
