Those numbers were for 2020. It has reduced since then.

Maybe it's just me but that car looked too new for siphoning unless not all newer cars have the antisiphoning valve or 90 degree elbow.

I was stationed on the Gulf Coast for Katrina, and they were using ice picks to stab into gas tanks, had to brief my unit on that and other, unsavory crimes of desperation.

Those of us on the coast with 38 gallon tanks might want to look into protecting that investment, especially with hurricane season 'and' summer gas prices approaching.

So the skid options have been talked about on the forum, but I couldn't find much about replacement tanks. Is there such an option?

The CBI gas skid is pretty limited on side protection, so that's out for me. The Victory skid looks okay, but it still seems like a guy could stab the tank on the exposed portions of the side, and think that he could grab enough to give it a go:

Yeah, I guess a skid plate might work. I was thinking about hidden bbq ignition sparkers tied to an alarm system wired up around the outside of the fuel tank. No holes and alarm goes off you're fine. If the fuel cell is losing gas though... :bananadead:

With a little mod, that is an option for some folks:

So probably a dumb question, but would a little JB Weld get you to a repair place?

JB weld got us from between Al Kut and Karbala when our engine block cracked, no idea how it works on 'critical' plastic, but I wouldn't risk it when tow service is an option.
