Hoping someone who knows how to work Apple devices can help me out with a stupid question, please. Work gave me an iPad for taking pictures in the field. Then, when I get back to the office, I transfer the pictures to my computer (via OneDrive) then delete them from the iPad. However, it seems that to do those two things, I have to select each picture individually. Is there really no "select all" button or am I just blind?

I know on my work iPhone I have to initially select pictures individually to delete, you can select a group of photos to delete but still have to select them. Once they are in the trash folder, if you want to delete them again there is a delete all at that point. But I have yet to find a "select all" in the initial album folder.

I think you can slide your finger over all the pictures when you’re in the select mode. I haven’t done this myself, but I’ve watched my wife do it on her iPad.

Edit: just tried it on my iPhone and it works - still annoying that there’s no select all option, but it’s at least faster than selecting them individually.

Check the build link in my signature.
If you are using OneDrive, there is an option to have OneDrive automatically upload all your pictures from the ipad…

    1 or 2... I lost count
My preferred method is to plug the iPad or iPhone into the computer then you can use the computer's file system to grab all the photos and drop them wherever you want. Then deleting them all you can use the slide method to grab all the photos at once and delete them.

Thanks for the tips, guys. The slide to select definitely saves me a lot of time. Now if only I could upload more than 30 pictures to OneDrive at a time. :frusty:

If they are in an album and not just your recent photos there is a select all button. Hit select like in the first photo then select all appears on the left hand side like in the second photo.

So I'd have to transfer them to an album, I guess? I'm just taking pictures then moving them to a server so we have them for future reference.

I wonder if there is a way to make them automatically go to an album. Maybe hidden somewhere in the photo settings. I know if you favorite them it throws them in the favorites album.
