    Happy Saturday Everyone-

I have been roaming thru the lighting threads and cannot seem to find where anyone has upgraded the headlights in a Platinum Tundra. I have a 2017 and love the LED strip but want to upgrade the bulbs as well. This leads me to so many questions:

    • Can this be done without effecting the LED strip?
    • Is it a simple plug and play process?
    • Can the Fog Lamps be upgraded?
    • What do you recommend for bulbs?

I'm currently doing a retrofit on my 2017 Platinum Tundra headlights. I'm installing morimoto mini D2S 4.0 projectors, panamera shrouds, RGB demon eyes, RGB halos behind shrouds, LED switchback halo turn signals & LED switchback daytime running lights. I'm doing all the work myself though.

Holy Hell - That just sounds impressive. How difficult is it? When it comes to electrical I have trouble with light switches.

It's a pain I'm not going to lie. A great result though, and in my opinion the only way to upgrade your headlights the right way. I did mine myself as well. It was my first dabble with retrofitting so I did a DIY to try to include areas I missed while reading other DIY's...

Check it out for the details...

It's not an easy mod to do if your not well versed. I'm good at doing my own work. There is a lot involved on my particular set up. Most retrofits aren't this involved though.

There is not a lot on YouTube about compatibility with the Platinum. The OEM LED strip is great. I would prefer to keep factory and upgrade the headlight bulbs and fogs.

Look into LED light bulbs for the main headlights. For the fogs either morimoto fog replacements or Baja designs squadron sport lights.
