I did, I had six SS3 Pros up front originally. Unfortunately, they made a horrible buzzing/hissing sound when turned on. After going back and forth with DD for 2 months or so, we finally agreed to send them back for a in store credit and I put it towards these. Customer service was top notch - it only took so long because we were doing a lot of testing trying to nail down the problem. On this order, they forgot to send the harness, so I cant test until that arrives.

Ahhhh dang, gonna ask if you wanted to sell glad it was an easy exchange!

 

It honestly sounded like a tick from up high on the engine like a rocker or valve. I noticed something was really bad when I dropped the oil filter. I removed the valve cover first, passenger side, and didn't see anything amiss. I removed the spark plugs and used a cheapo snake camera to look at the pistons. Horrible resolution, but the most forward piston didn't look like the rest. I'm trying to remove the oil pan with the engine still in. If I can succeed with that, I'll remove the head and verify I have a bad piston. Knock out the piston from below, replace it from above, reinstall the oil pan(s), reinstall the head, reinstall the valve cover, plug everything back in, go for a drive. Easy Peasy......

 

Picked up a patio cover from Costco today.

 

LED head and tails done. Now anyone install foglights on their truck that didn't come factory? Factory wiring is hiding behind but no button in cab (would i need to find where the wires go to?) End goal would be amber Baja Designs fogs thanks in advance!

youd need to change out your factory headlight stalk for one with the fog light switch on it. Or you may be able to do the anytime foglight mod where they are always on with headlights which bypasses the need for the switch

 

I like the shape of those tail lights. Reminds me of butterfly wings. Who is the maker of these replacements?

There are some threads about, regarding the retrofit of foglight controls. I've not really read up on it myself.

 

You also need a relay added in the fuse box under the hood. That's were I had to add mine on my 2010.

 

Did you swap out the headlight + fog stalk along with the relay?

 

Yes, found the new assembly on ebay.

 

well since Tax rebate and (inserting excuse) gas prices going up it was time to switch to synthetic rope and lighter weight recovery gear instead of heavy steel and heavy equipment chain. (12T Snatch block, Tow strap, Tree Hugger strap, 2 Shoft shackles, gloves, and a nifty box) all this still coasted less than a ARB recovery kit.

 

I'm not really going for the butterfly-wing-look but I just found them on Amazon. Noticed some condensation happening after a couple days so I got a refund for the lights, sealed em with some window calk and threw em back in. After sealing there is no more condensation

 

Good to know about the condensation. And keep us posted on how the LEDs hold up.

Got it back from Toyota. $3300 for the new steering rack. Yay!

 

Done the same, the upper pan can’t be removed without pulling the engine…

 

Got my Synthetic rope installed, wasn't expecting it to be so hard with the whole untie the splice thing but nevertheless its done and on looks better to I do need a new end since my hook doesn't fit the jacketing around the end. Then also today my UBK arrived from ToyTec that will go on at a later date.

 

Finally got it back from the body shop and they put a new bedside on and looks great. Also got a amazing bonus! They sent it out and had the whole bed liner resprayed! So stoked about that too. Now just going to wait a month for paint to cure before I put the new graphic back on.

 

Sat in a third Gen yesterday and got screen envy. Had a Pioneer 7600NEX installed. Screen is 9” and the sound and display is a nice upgrade from the Alpine ILX that I had (for sale BTW). Really updated the interior. Next is Katzkins

 

Added Morimoto's to the truck this morning, this might just motivate me to wash the truck finally.

 

Got my REDARC trailer brake controller and RSCA button moved to the other side. Also my fog lights are up and running!

Went rouge and took black mirror caps off and put MGM caps on it.
Got a Optitron dash I put in and add the black Toyota logo a few posts up.

 

picked up the "Winch Shackle" couldn't reuse my white hook due to the Hook up ID for the cable/rope being to small for rope with a steel casing. Kinda like the thimble look seems it will go good with using soft shackles.

 

My badge blackout kit from Ebay arrived today. Need to give the truck a good scrubbing with no snow in the forecast to put them on. Looks like a pretty nice kit though, dry fit looked good and tight.
