    Hi,

I am a noob when it comes to automotive electrical. I have a 2014 Tundra Crewmax. A couple of the wires broke off from the OEM backup camera plug. The replacement plug is $100 bucks!

    https://connectorexperts.com/i-31645527-ce4189f.html?ref=category:1261630;brand:100061

I have a few questions regarding this connector:
    1. What is it called?
    2. Can the original plug be taken apart and then rewired?
    3. Are any cheaper alternatives available to replace this plug?
Please see the pictures of the plug attached.

You can try removing the pins and re-pinning the wires.
Although Toyota doesn't have much slack in the wiring.
You could always solder an extra length of wire to the existing wire.

Some of those camera wires might be shielded wires making them VERY difficult to work with.
    I'm not sure..

    Hi @Roman - All,

I placed an online order for the part but per the dealer, the part has been discontinued and cannot be ordered anymore.

Any other options? The wire broke off right at the connector so cannot solder it. Not sure if it can be picked apart. I tried picking it apart but that did not work.

Yep, showed to be good but then Toyota kicked it back stating it was discontinued. Called it a non-serviceable part.

If it is just the wire that is broken, I would get the pin out, grab a new wire with the pin attached, and solder the new wire to the old one.

    1 or 2... I lost count
From the wiring diagram that @1lowlife posted, another option would be to cut out the stock connectors and replace them with a cheap generic 4 pin connector. Here are a couple that were on the front page of Amazon. Someone can chime in if this is a bad idea but if you cannot get your connect to depin and repin it is an option.
