It is, it is super thick and chunky but in a good way. It is a huge upgrade over the original one.

 

Did they do it in house? Is there a brand on it?

 

It wasn't in house, but I can't find a brand on it (which I like) if you're interested, I could reach out to them and find out the information for it?

I live in Calgary, Raddison/Albert park so hood life yo. Truck is supercharged, could take you for a lil rip if it helps you decide. Its like subaru sti quick, nothing crazy but 6000lb and 500hp makes for a unique experience

 

This year is gonna be pretty packed for me, but if y'all settle on a meet up date and location I can see if something works.

Damn that's pretty torquey.. I may have to take you up on that someday.. may I ask how it came to be super'd? Did you do it? Or did you buy it like that? I'm trying to figure out if 12k is a rip off but I'm starting to think maybe it really does cost that much.. tbh I'm new to the idea. It's more of a pipe dream, really. It was sc’d from new and I bought it as a certified used 4years ago from toyota with orginal 8yr warranty so i was able to finance the it all in a way.
$12k is a lot of $$, but if the truck is a forever truck and its your hobby, I would say save up the entire amount and keep selling the idea to your wife in the mean time

 

I sold my wife on the idea of a snorkel on my last truck - "for the safety of our family". Didn't work with the supercharger due to the $12k price tag. I'm trying "we can tow the bigger trailer you wanted" next.

 

My wife doesn't even think $400 for a RSB is a good investment.

 

Got to add in the quicker passing on the 2 lane roads. And there's the getting back stock power at the higher altitudes of Alberta. Can also try the idea that boosted engines are more fuel efficient in general too, even if that's not gonna be the case for the SC. And the last to go after is that if you spend the 12k now you'll want to keep the truck longer and save money in truck payments down the road.

 

Those are all solid ideas @mountainpete Now I just need 12k in loose change lol

Unfortunately I am generally a calm driver and quicker passing is low on the list. And kept my last Toyota truck 15 years to she already knows we will keep it.

 

Start talking about getting motorcycle or a snowmobile, that should really freak her out, than you can sell the sc as a “safe and fun” toy?

 

Already did the motorcycle. She was super supportive. Sold it two years ago (I didn't ride it enough - time with the kid is more fun).

 

Have you tried telling her that you either want a supercharger or a flamethrower? I find that when I want something and The Woman pushes back a bit, I just say "Guess I'll buy a flamethrower then". So far she always tells me to just buy the other thing. I credit @War Machine for this technique.

Imma get me a flamethrower someday...

 

We keep getting snow and ice like we did this year and Imma gonna want a flamethrower too
