I use these. They work using bone conduction. They were a lifesaver when I worked in the shop where ear buds and regular headphones are banned due to situational awareness and noise protection reasons. These let me wear earplugs and when I keep the volume to a reasonable level or when I listen to audiobooks/podcasts I can still hear what's going on around me. Safety guys were always doubtful until they tried them. Always got an exception to allow me to wear them. Now that I'm a desk jockey, I can listen to my music and have no issues hearing the low quality, impotent insults the sparkies across the aisle try to toss at me. I still pretend not to hear the engineers though. :D

My Dad taught himself refrigeration when we were in the restaurant business, saved a lot of money in theory. Those things were around in the 70s at least.

Not angry, but annoyed. I have a road closed sign at the turn in on the road that we have equipment on. So far, just today, I have had 6 vehicles drive right past it. 2 have stopped nose to the traffic cones across the road and appeared ready to get out and move them until I walked up.
Standard response has been that they didn't think the road closed sign meant they couldn't drive up the road, they all said they saw it. What part of "ROAD CLOSED" doesn't mean the road is closed?

What did you do to piss it off?
Always be polite to crows/ravens. They are smart and they hold a grudge. Had one guy that pissed one off and a month later a group of them started attacking the trucks on the job site, pulling their windshield wipers apart.

I’ve counted up to 9 on my back deck at one time. Usually there are 2-4. They bully a lot of the smaller birds

I’ll go Ozzy Osborne on them. They crap everywhere

My wife has some bimbo friend at work who told her that she cut her electric bill in half by putting power strips on everything and keeping all of them turned off unless she is using it. She claimed her bill went from 200 to 90 a month. Now my wife is running around unplugging shit every day. Our bill is only 80 a month.

I'm suspicious that maybe that lady forgot to mention this happened when Summer became Winter and she stopped using her AC. I cannot see plugged in, but turned off items running $100 a month. But my wife being my wife, doesn't believe me.

Little things are bugging me. Like I was in a meeting and went to turn on the conventional oven to preheat it. Turned the knobs and walked away, came back 10 minutes later and no warm orange glow. Similar happened with my coffee machine. Same happened with my phone charger, plugged it in while I walked the dogs (I need it to log on for work) and when I came back it hadn't charged a bit. Sure, I could verify that these things I'm turning on are coming to life before I walk away, but I never needed to before this batshit crazy lady infected my house with her stupid analysis of energy savings.

The stuff to keep unplugged when not using it is electronics as even standby mode can use some power.

Yeah thats true, but its not going to cut our bill in half like her friend claimed. The majority of our electricity goes through our computers for work, our dryer, and our TV. Everything else is pretty low consumption.
