And I have put down a 50% deposit on the iKamper Skycamp Mini 3.0 at a semi local distributor.
    https://ikamper.com/products/skycamp-3-0-mini/
    :yay:
Now I am just really really hoping to they get it before the last week of May. I have a camping trip planned, and I would love to use it instead of sharing my buddy's wall tent.

 Thanks, guys. Appreciate the support.

As for the wait, iKamper is telling their distributors end of April/end of May for deliveries. I could have done the instant gratification of the Skycamp Mini 2.0 with a $200 discount off MSRP, but the 3.0 was actually 20 bucks cheaper. The improvements look to be worth the wait, so I'll wait. :playball:

Can’t go wrong with IKamper mini and a Tundra. I had a CVT and switched to a mini and completely satisfied with my decision.

Ooooh! Super slick looking! I'd love a photo dump of the tent if you're willing. Purely because I'm a child and love pictures.

I have a question for you on the tent as well; how much time/effort do you put into getting it level? I see some people digging holes or putting blocks under tires to get their tents completely level with little bubble levels on the corners and such. Worth the time, not a concern? I have no experience with a RTT and so any tips for basic use things you've learned from use would be appreciated.

It's just nice to be fairly level but also with some RTT's being unlevel could cause some minor binding setting up and taking down. I have these that I picked up at an RV supply shop.

    https://www.amazon.com/Valterra-A10-0918-Stacker-Pack-10/dp/B001V8LQ2G?crid=I3RYL5GLR5L7&keywords=rv+leveling+blocks&qid=1648220542&s=automotive&sprefix=rv+level%2Cautomotive%2C164&sr=1-21

As for the level part of it I use an app on my phone called "bubble level" and just hold the phone up to the tent or whatever. It works well.

Have not had any issues with my Tuffstuff Alpha II RTT. I just find a spot that looks levelish... park pop it open set the ladder, insert the door and window stays, toss in pillows and sleeping bag or blankets and done in appx 3 minutes at a lazy pace.

I like it pretty level can tell when not, but if it’s within bubbles I’m good with Ikamper, noticed it more with the bigger CVT. I’ll either use maxtrax or I have a set of blocks for RV leveling depending where I go.

A little late in replying, but congrats on your decision. If you feel a sense of relief then You know you made the right choice. Also, good for choosing the version 3. And not settling.

Yeah, definitely a relief. The 3.0 was actually $20 bucks cheaper. The only thing it "costs" me is wait time, so I was fine with it. Super stoked, and cannot wait to get out this summer with it.

Sounds good. BTW, concerning g the leveling thing, the little leveling blocks do help of you have the room to carry them. My experiences with the RTT so far is finding an absolute level spot may not be possible all the time. So if I’m in an un level spot, I orient the truck so that the head will be in the high spot. Then it’s similar to sleeping in a recliner. May not be for everyone, but I’m comfortable like that.

You want to get it relatively level for sure. I see people obsess over true level, I’m not like that but a few rocks or leveling blocks for sure help in most situations. In probably 100+ nights in an RTT I can count on one hand I bet how many times I’ve pulled into a spot and been level enough.

You'll get better answers asking in a general camping thread than in an individual build thread. This thread is just kind of chronicling my journey with my truck. You might get some answers from the one or two people who have been active, but in general build threads result in low answers to no build specific questions.

I don't have a garage, so my answer is no.

I should have realized this is a build thread. This thread popped up as a result of ceiling winch search.

I'm trying to remember because somebody had build a lift for their snow blower. That was ages ago and my mind remembers it happened, but not where!
