I currently just picked up a Dirt King LT kit and still need to place an order for coilovers.

The front end of my truck is a little heavier due to having a C4 overland bumper and a front RCI steel skid.

Dirt Kings spec Kings come with 700lb springs. I’m afraid that the springs would be too soft and I would lose some height up front without adding too much preload.

Should I go with 800lb springs or would I sacrifice some ride quality? Or would it be better to switch over to a bigger diameter spring like a 3in?

I have the DK LT kit upfront with spec'd Coilovers and bypasses. I recommend getting the 800 pound springs. I definitely feel like the front end is on the softer side. I've bottomed out a couple times (insert comment about buying hydro bumps here :anonymous:). I know a couple people on here have made the switch to 800lb springs and seem happy about it.

Need more pics of this beast! I'll be going with the DK kit for sure. They're in development on a springover rear LT which I'm looking forward to.

really?! If this is true I’ll hold off with revamping my rear. I was considering the rear shock relocation kit of camburg but I’m willing to wait for the DK kit.

Yep, I know someone there in R&D/Sales. It'll have a custom Deaver pack also.

love the setup, especially the red on the kings! Do you have an IG? I’d like to see more pics of the tuck.

I actually placed my order with DK and was able to have them ordered with 800lb springs. Hopefully it’ll definitely help out. Sadly, delivery date is projected for late July.

gives me time to purchase everything else I need.

Thanks man. I admittedly do a terrible job of taking pictures lol. DK’s stuff is rad though. And they’re great dudes. If you ever get a chance to go by their shop, do it. They gave me a full tour. Cool place. Lots of cool projects.

Thanks dude. My IG is pretty much just personal stuff. I rarely post pictures of the truck. If I ever “finish” it maybe I’ll make an IG for the truck lol.

Im local to their shop. Not sure if I can just walk in and ask for a tour. Definitely a fan of their work. Can’t wait to get everything installed and now I can’t wait for their possible new products.

I wanna do 800lb springs now haha. Do you know the part # for just the springs or you just request the coil overs to come with those springs?

Sorry, I’m not sure what the part # is. I was able to have them order the coilovers with 800lb springs.

The lead time is killing me.

Doesn’t the very nature of spring over limit travel to non-LT realms? DK definitely knows more about suspension than I could ever hope to, but spring under gets into LT numbers because the spring is so arched. To get that much travel with a spring over setup the ride height would have to be super high, right? You could get a longer shock many different ways, but you need a highly arched spring to take advantage of it. Genuinely interested in a different way to do things, just can’t even begin to think how that would work.
