Took the ex and my grandkids up to MT Evans/Echo Lake area. For those of you not in the know.. The road up to Mt Evans is the highest paved road in the states at 14,271 ft. Pikes Peak is somewhat higher but the road is gravel. I"ve been up there numerous times. Never ever, EVER, got mountain goat shots like I did today. Crazy...In the clouds..literally.. (Boy does Colorado suck)

    Nice pics!

Love Mount Evans. Road my bike up there 3 years ago. And drove up 2 years ago. Got a ton of awesome pics, this is one of my favorite.

Fyi Pikes peak is paved all the way now, but still I think 30 feet short in total?

I haven't been up Pike's in quite some time. Maybe 10 years or so. There was a herd of big horns at Summit Lake yesterday too. And a bazillion people.

I saw three guys riding up Mt Evans using fat tire cycles. Dang.....Hard corps for sure.

I rode my motorcycle up there. The cyclists are nuts.

We left Idaho springs in the morning and went up, was 38 degrees at the top. Rode down into 95 degrees back at the springs. Talk about layering lol.

Yesterday it was posted 45 degrees at the top with windchill at 30. Wasn't too bad by the time we go to the top. I saw people dressed like they were in Siberia and others with shorts and flip flops.

Thanks for that. First time gkids got to do something like that. Edible mushroom season is coming up in mid to late July here. Going to teach the kids which shrooms are good and which ones are not so good . They are too young for a .22 rifle yet. When old enough I'll bypass BB's and teach them the real deal about firearm safety and let them handle most likely a Marlin single shot. I should divvy up and pay for their lifetime NRA membership now.....:infantry:

I remember graduating from my daisy BB gun to an old 410 bolt action and shot my first dove out of a tree. I know that's kinda cheating...........but I was real young.

I went from a Daisy to a Marlin over under .22/410 when I was 10 (1965). Wish I still had that Marlin.

Definitely an old fart. That old Marlin .22/.410 would be worth some decent $. They stopped making them years ago. A great beginners gun and the .410 would be great for grouse now.

It's not until you watch those shows on TV and see that toy or bike or ? that you tossed out and now it's worth some outrageous amount. I guess if we had a crystal ball we'd all be rich !

Decided to change oil/rotate tire myself..........By turning my key and driving to Grease Monkey first and then on over to Big O for the free rotation. Spotted a new (model year?) test Ford. Notice how it's camo'd. This is typical....

Wandered up to @Joeshaker's hole in the wall up in Evergreen. Sold me a decent black grille for $**.**. Great deal. Less chrome. Grille will get Durabak'd along with my replacement bumper. Hopefully before hunting season...

I am now officially a "special respondent" in my son's custody case. I'm now actually a true party to the case. The Family Services Dept requested that I be part of the case at my suggestion which they have to approve of which pleased the judge. Usually the court has difficulty in finding willing special respondents. This is one of the better cases for the judge. It's why we are always last to be called. Plus I get to kill a lot of time here on T.com this afternoon. Almost beer time.

I just realized that my 07's Slate Metallic is slightly different than MGM. No way in Hell am I going to start a "slate metallic" thread without Metallica's approval first. To lazy to see when Toyota switched to MGM. 08?

Just got back from taking my son to Mattress Firms new Denver showroom warehouse. Huge. Supposed to be ready by the 19th. I noticed out back another building with Line X sign. Drove to the front and saw a new Tundra from Mt States Toyota getting ready for liner no doubt.

I decided to introduced my 2.5 year old grand son to some off hiway wheeling tomorrow up where I go hunting. Figured it's about time to start the brain wash.Picked up a "truck" seat for him today off Craig's. Believe me , lil Manny is ready. (and so are the diapers and wipes, juice, lunchables, and what ever else I'm forgetting...

A few more taken down on my friends property at 10600ft. . The usual afternoon thunder storms showed up. Temps dropped almost 35 degrees in a few minutes.

Topped of my truck after I got back. Hand calculated mpg.. 12.1.... Not too bad considering I live at 5400ft and wheeled as hi as 11000+ft up a hell of a steep climb up to Dakota. My 07 also turned 78500 miles yesterday.
