I got the same thing, towed with it twice, then on the 3rd trip, it went out. Came home, emailed the company, they told me it was 6 days out of warranty, so basically they told me to f**k off.

The display was washed out, and it was generally a POS. I'm currently looking for anything better than this pile.

If your trailer is prewired that is half the battle! And if your Furion wireless receiver is still good, then the FRAC Harness and Video adapter kit will take care of the rest. The trailer Cam video will then be available for display on your Head Unit.

Where does the receiver mount with this setup?

There is no pre-determined location. Ideally you want it located as close as possible to the FRAC VSM (i.e. in the head unit bay). The receiver will have an antenna attached and the antenna orientation is important for maximum receiver sensitivity. This directly affects the range of your wireless connection. I would hard mount or double-side tape the receiver to the back of the HU bay with the antenna extended vertically (or as vertical as space allows) for maximum range performance.

Ha! I just read about the negative Furion. I'm leaning towards hard wiring.

That takes a little more work, but it's definitely the best way to go.

My trailer is pre-wired for a camera, I'm guessing that means power only.

Indeed it is, but just for power. You mentioned an antenna attached to the HU to grab the signal? My Kenwood DNR 1007 has 4 camera inputs, 2 are free.

If I wanted it on my HU, all I need to do is pull the HU, grab a remaining input, slap the receiver in there, and I'm golden? What are the specs on the cam? Any idea on when you might have some operational pics or videos? Everything sounds awesome!

Yes. It's as "easy" as that. Or you can run an RCA cable all the way from the camera to your head unit. (Through a bumper bulkhead connector).
The Head unit doesn't care where the video comes from. So it should work great in one of your open RCAs. There are lots of different wireless video transceiver systems out there. I don't have a specific recommendation for those since I prefer to use the RCA cable method.

I'm working on my kit instructions and posting at the moment. Once things warm up a bit, I plan to video the entire installation process.

Usually that is the case in my experience. The power is generally connected to your running light circuit. So to power the trailer cam during operation you just need to turn on the running lights.

How did you install the bumper bulkhead connector? Do you have any pictures?
