Well as the title suggest this was the absolute worst product that I purchased for my truck. Purchased my truck back in 2015 and in doing so, started researching what products I wanted for the truck. Needed to get a nerf bar/step bar to allow people to get onto the truck relative easy. At the time of researching NFAB products kept coming up. I was so tired with the cheap Chinese stuff off Ebay and such. Figured I would get American quality.

Well sadly that didn't occur the bars lasted five years. After five years they started to rust and rust pretty badly. Conveniently Nfab's warranty is only good for five years. So if you plan on buying something from them keep that in mind. I keep my truck clean and maintained, so when I started seeing rust appear. They were taken off the truck cleaned, primed and at this point trying to save them with Bedliner. It was a losing battle, because the bars rusted from within and finally had to take them off permanently.

Nfab's warranty and service support is mediocre at best. I bought what at the time was a great product. Having thought I purchased American steel, only to find out it was no better then the same Chinese junk out there.

I would be very hesitant to buy any or recommend any NFAB product for durability!IMG_3609.jpgIMG_3608.jpg IMG_3607.jpg

I have my N-Fabs Line-X'ed and no issues at all. Of course I'm not in the rustbelt either.

I have some slightly different NFAB'S and after 3 years still look perfect. Are the tubes in the pic you posted open to collect salt and debris, or did you just take off the covers when you removed them?

George, we do get some snow, but not enough to warrant the extensive rust problem.

It’s a sign for me to move my ass to a warmer climate…..haha.

Actually the Bilsteins 5100’s are in great shape, no issues there.

There was never any covers for the tube ends. So always open. If there was supposed to have covers on them, then the set I got weren’t shipped with them.

Ive had my Nfabs replaced under warranty 3 times. Always rusted in the same spot where the hoop steps get welded to the main tube. Total pain to repackage them and send back. The last time they just sent new ones and told me to destroy old ones. Although they have been good about warranty i Will be getting something else when this pair rusts for sure.

    Doug, thanks for posting.

I swear I thought I was going crazy with amount these bars rusted. Also these did the same. Interesting part though none of the tech support mentioned about end caps on the tubes. If it weren’t for @TILLY asking about them, I wouldn’t know.

Guessing I was lucky to find someone in the Nfab tech support that was trying to do something. Hence the reason I started the process. Sadly after sending them additional info I get the one person that craps on customer loyalty.
