I am particularly looking for a higher capacity shell such as the CX HD or Snugtop sportsman (reinforced corner and 1 inch thick upper shell), however I am doubting the quality of snugtop since my dealer does offer it but not yet had any experience in installing it.

Anyway, I am just anticipating the need for it but I guess I can get away with just the normal shell. How are you limited with the inner frame? I can’t think of things that might be a problem since the only thing I am planning to install in side is a modular bed/drawers, if I would be putting something big or heavy to put over I’ll just use a trailer. What did you encounter that had the frame as a nuisance or obstacle?

Well, I am running the decked system so with that and the internal frame it limits me quite a bit. If you look back at page 1 you'll see where the internal frame can reduce side room and headroom in certain spots. If you're drawers are lower than the decked system is, then it's not a big deal.
What do you plan on putting up top?
The uprights and load bars aren't re-moveable(well I guess you can technically, but they're not made to). If you want to install a Pioneer/Prinsu rack it'll take a lot of work over a regular shell. If you plan on getting a basket or cargo case it should be no problem to mount stuff up there.
It doesn't sound like you'll be sleeping on top of it. It sounds more like you'll sleeping under it.
Whats the setup plan or outfitting idea?

I am thinking of sleeping over it at least 1-2x a year. I’m just bothered by the difficulty of cleaning the window when needed (my driveway has trees that give off yellow pollens), the inability to remove the load/cross bars when needed and I guess the internal frame that might be an obstacle. Thank you the picture though.

Hey dudes, back after a pretty long hiatus.

Active duty life sucks a lot sometimes man.

Anyways, I managed to mount a Rhino Rack platform to my ARE HD crossbars via a special clamp Rhino Rack makes that's actually pretty hard to find. Still experimenting in my free time to see if I can eliminate how high the platform sits as it sits on top of the HD bars.

Photos and a full write up to follow once I get home this Sunday. Hopefully it'll help someone else out as there's literally no one else other than us who owns this truck cap it seems. (And no one including Rhino Rack nor ARE offers any kind of support whatsoever.)

I have a 19 Crewmax with an ARE CX HD. Anyone know what size T-slot nuts fit the internal skeleton? I'm having no luck finding that information

No but I've been meaning to find out, for like, a year now. If I have time I'll swing by ACE by my house. They seem to have a large assortment of sizes there.

OK just found this on Tacoma world ....

"I never found any t-nuts that fit the frame through my usual hardware suppliers. I ended up getting an A.R.E. t-nut kit from my local dealer. It had 8 black t-nuts that are shaped to fit the slots somewhat snugly, 8 washers, 8 screws, and 8 zinc-plated flat nuts (thick sheet metal) that have two threaded holes and fit the slots somewhat loosely. The black t-nuts and the smaller hole on the zinc t-nuts are 6mm. The larger hole on the zinc t-nuts are 8mm. If I remember correctly, the kit was about US$17.

I see you're in Orange County, CA. You could try calling this guy. He's where I got mine from."
A-11348 is the part number for the kit. $30.00 is how much they said.
