I've used both. Latch is better; tighter to the frame of the seat vs belt. Take to FD to see how it's done. And don't worry, by the time you're with kids #3, you just toss 'em back there and let them hang on to whatever they can find

Thanks for all the replies. I always like to try something myself before asking for help. I will go to the local FD and have them look this over in both vehicles. @hoyal Thanks for the offer but I'm busy with work this week. I will try the Aurora FD and will let you know if I need your help.

This is exactly my plan. I hope to have this done correctly or at least be confident with my efforts before the nurses look it over.

6 inch RC lift, 20 inch xd hoss wheels, 35 inch toyo open country tires, ADD venom sliders, leather interior, mesh grill, 10 inch sub with alpine stereo, air lift bags with on board compressor, bullydog tuner, custom duals, and an AFE intake. I'm sure I forgot something but that's the most of it.
I do several a shift, depending on the shift my self and the other car seat tech on my shift are out of the same house. And either is preferred, one is not safer than the other. It's a convenience, with some car seats. Some have really nice user friendly latch systems that make it easy. Others are a pain. And what works for one car may not be it tight in another. I used the seat belt method for my daughters seat in my tundra for a few different reasons. As long as the seat is tight and the parent can replicate how I put it in the vehicle is what I look for.

The hospital should offer some free classes as well. If you are able to I would highly recommend the infant CPR class. My daughter turned blue a few times when we were in the hospital after she was born and I was able to act before the nurses got there. It's very scary when it happens but its also reassuring that you know what to do when you leave the hospital. Good luck buddy!

I'll ask the boss to take a look at the local hospital... I gotta be honest, I'm scared. I freak out when my dog gets sick (she's been reaaaalllly sick) I'm going to be a nervous wreck with a kid of my own.

Lol I hear ya man. I was in the same boat for months. I was scared to even hold her cause I though I was going to drop her and now I carry her around like a football under my arm lol. The first few weeks are a little rough with adjusting but you'll learn a lot very quickly.

I used the latch system. Very easy to set up and make tight. We did not have to go to the FD and get the seats checked, but I did have an idea of what to do because I was once certified to install them(back ini the day when I worked at a car dealership).

We will be transistioning to a convertible seat soon. I would like to ask about rear facing convertible seats in the DC. Anyone have any recommendations that don't force the passanger seat to be pushed all the way forward? I'm looking for something that isnt very deep.
