    Flux capacitor!
I called Auburn Gears to ask this exact question. The simple explanation is that the stock rear diff puts the power transfer to the driver rear driver tire when it slips. When you install the automatic Auburn LSD it will transfer the power to both rear tires instead of just one tire. This is a big advantage for loose conditions like dirt, sand and snow. If you already doing a gear swap it doesn't cost much for the labor mainly just the LSD parts. So around $500-$600 more for LSD.

12" lift on 38's and tow a 5000# TT. I do have a lot of lost power when ascending hills and the transmission goes through shifts a lot on inclines. A re-gear is absolutely necessary when when running my setup and will be getting. As for those who are one 35's it may not be required but will be worth a look at doing.

Not on this blue truck. This truck was built way before the bump stops were released.

How has your Tundra been holding up these past few years with 4.88s and 37s? I have 4.88s and have thought about 37s in the future.

same here. 488 and 37s been working very well. 529 would be better I think, but at the time they weren't proven. Ill probably switch in the next year or two

Currently on 35's in my stock 4.10's '14 and thinking of going 4.88 or even 5.29. Have you made the switch yet? I also pull heavy toy hauler and thinking the 5.29's might be a better choice but I'm certainly no expert on the subject.

37's with 5.29's here. My personal experience from re-gearing vehicles has been to go lower than the numbers and calculated RPM's may suggest. Since the 5.7 Tundra's all have 4.30's to begin with, I would recommend going straight to 5.29 for anyone considering a re-gear. I would not bother with the 13% change of going from 4.30 to 4.88 now that 5.29's are available for these trucks.
