So, as most folks already know, Toyota recently "retired" the mediocre (but still functional) Entune app and directed Entune app users to the terrible Toyota app (i.e. doesn't connect to the Entune headunit half the time) (at least the Android version).
So, I ditched Entune and the Toyota app completely and went with an Alpine head unit with full integration to the Tundra (and with Android Auto). Before photo on the bottom and after install on the top.
Very satisfied, and I don't miss Entune at all now!

    Gear:
    Alpine INE-W970HD.
    • Includes DVD, navigation, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay (nav in case I'm too lazy to plug in my phone)
    • Must install the include included microphone and GPS puck
    Metra 99-8252 bezel Silver/Black
    • nice clean lines, but I wish the brackets were metal
CRUX SWRTY-61N — Wiring Harness, Antenna Adapter, Steering Wheel Control, Radio Replacement Module
    • Even the steering wheel voice command button works when using Android Auto or Apple CarPlay
Before (bottom) and after photo below.

Fixed it. Obviously missed clicking on the media gallery clip. Thanks for letting me know.

Looks good! Dramatic loss of buttons and things to twist. No issues yet?

Actually, I like the cleaner look. The only "drawback" is the loss of the native voice commands, which I struggled with anyway. Android Auto's tie in with Google's voice commands are much better.
One weird thing is that Alpine requires the parking brake to be applied, released, and applied again in order to get in to the settings menu.
Back up camera lines are apparently built in to the OEM camera module on the tailgate, so no need to calibrate - a good thing!
Updating the nav maps is a procedure (must have a Windows machine and a USB flash stick), but updates are free at least. Probably not going to update very often anyway, since Google maps are constantly updated.

how is that CRUX SWRTY-61N unit vs getting the maestro one? price point of that one excites me.

There's also an extra wire to splice in their bypass procedure
