Short bed problems. Looking for rack solutions for my crew cab.. i am a woodworker and often need long boards. Are there any rack systems that line up level with an over cab rack for 8’ + boards? Something that’s easily removable if need be… i don’t always have enough to justify a trailer. So here i am.

It's expensive - but I got a U.S. Rack Wide "Galleon" rack - one of the few I could find compatible with my 2015 CM Shortbed with OEM tri-fold Tonneau Cover. I carry some lumber, but mostly 17'-to-19' canoes in the 68-pound class. Mine has a 350-lb. load limit, but the slightly angled-in version supports 500 lbs.

Versatile, stout, and awesome name. https://overlandvehiclesystems.com/bed-racks/

Not cheap, but any quality rack won't be. It is adjustable and removable.

Full time Westin HDX headache rack, custom rails with quick pin on/off rear crossbar. Works like a charm for loads, keeps bed sides stiff, offers some roll over protection, provides additional lighting options, allows for the rear window to be left open when hot, yet still secure, prevents rear window from impact, and provides shade to rear glass. Also works with a roll up bed cover too, and provides more tie down anchors as well.

    Too many, but not enough....
I got one of these from Lowes for like 60 bucks. Its awesome, very secure and dont have to lift over head. I have a double man kayak so its a heavy and long sucker.
