Looks clean, but doesn’t solve any problems for me personally, it was the low tie down points I really wanted for holding down smaller stiff. I can hook to the bed rails already, which has always been good enough. Perhaps if you do a lot of high stuff or bungee to the side of the bed that would be a good solution?

Yeah I agree. I needed the low rings too, but just posted the idea for those who thought it useful (Knowledge share). Even though I don't really need it I thought it was a creative place to put the d-rings.

I tried the search function but this thread seems to be the closest thing to what i'm looking for. Has anyone thought of cutting a plywood board to fit kind of like a bed mat? That way you could install tie downs wherever you want to fit your needs. Then you don't have to drill holes in the bed or be limited to oem tie down locations.

Whatever you do, don't hammer the end of the bolt like that. You'll mushroom the bolt and make it very difficult to get back in and possibly strip threads.

Normally I'd agree, but these have tapered ends with no threads and the lip rolls easy. Very low chance of damaging the bolt in this situation. You can use a punch too, if that's a concern.

I know it's tapered and you all have been warned not to hammer it, but do as you please. I won't say how I know that it's a really bad idea :)
