Would the 2000 tundra that has power locks have a remote fob to unlock the doors?

It would be super easy to add if it doesn't. Any aftermarket keyless/alarm system will do it. You don't have to even use the alarm function if you don't want/need it.

Is it really? All I've heard is that aftermarket door keyless entry is a nightmare....is there a plug and play option?

Yes, usually if you have power locks you have keyless entry.

Yes. As long as you're not interested in the alarm and/or remote start features All you need to do is replicate a momentary power or ground (I think it's ground in Toyotas) -- one for lock, one for unlock.

Here's a really good set of instructions for how to install keyless on a Toyota. I copied this from a review on Amazon. He's installing in an older Camry, but the it's the same for a Tundra. Obviously, double check wire colors though.

EDIT: One of the key takeaways from the instructions below is he confirms that with the Toyota system the switch completes the circuit to ground.
Any keyless system I've seen has a provision to switch either power or ground... with Toyotas. select ground.

FYI: the system he installed is this one. But any old keyless system will work, as they all appear to be knock-offs of one another, and the wiring is identical.

Easy once you figure it out. The price can't be beat. Installed on 1993 Toyota Camry

Step 1: Throw away the "wiring diagrams" that came with it.Step 2: Find your vehicle's factory service manualStep 3: Here is how this thing ACTUALLY works.o Connect power and ground to the device (black and red wires)o When you hit the lock button, the white and yellow wires connecto When you hit the unlock button, the white + black and yellow + black wires connect.o Each brown wire goes to left or right turn signal positive wire.o I did not hook up the remaining features, but I believe they work similarly. My vehicle is a 1993 Toyota Camry XLE. It has power locks, but no keyfob. This is what I did to hook this up:First, find the Toyota lock actuator control unit. This is behind the glove box. If you also want the car to flash lights when you lock/unlock you will need to also tap into the wiring harness for the emergency flashers. behind the gauge cluster bezel. The included diagram instructs you (for "with lock actuators") to hook up both yellow wires to positive, this may be correct for some vehicles, but Toyota locks are actuated by switching on GROUND, so this will just blow the fuse. In my case, I hooked both yellow wires up to ground. Connect the lock wire (WHITE) to the light green wire on the lock actuator box. Connect the unlock wire (WHITE-black) to the dark green wire on the lock actuator box. Connect one brown wire to the left signal flasher (green-black) and the other brown wire to the right signal flasher (green yellow).I made a custom diagram that should work on all similarly aged Toyotas, this one is on a 1993 camry. I circled the wires I tapped in the attached images.
