Did the DC backseat fold down mod yesterday by bending down the attachment points. No cutting of the brackets. That was very nice. Applied dynamat to the rear wall. Going to mount the amp and subwoofer (I hope) to the rear wall now that I can. That'll free up the space under the seat so I can install the organizer.

Well, while my friends at the Hendrick Toyota have 3 22 Tundras in for turbo service already, my 2010 is just cruising past 185k. Oil, rotation, rear diff, front pads.

Next up will be tires, idk if I’ll stick with Wildpeaks but they’ve served me so well. Time to budget for that.

Full front end lighting upgrade. Alpharex Pro w/ HID’s and Diode Dynamics backlit SS3 fogs! Backlit is first pic, fogs on is second. This lighting package blows away the old stock stuff and is every bit as good if not better than our GX460

What HID bulbs did you go with in there? I have some on their way, but may just throw them in with the included halogens for now...

Got my front camera installed today. Took about and hour and $50 with pieces from Amazon. If you have an aftermarket radio with yellow component cable input I think this is the easiest way to go

    4 to 1 input switch: $37 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HN2VY1Y
    Cheapo camera: $15 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RD05MOO

Don't have any pictures but the camera is very discrete and quality is on par with any backup camera I've seen. Video of operation: https://photos.app.goo.gl/3eiTGnpK9XXgFeEK6

Install was easy. The 4-1 input switch gets wired into the radio (video signal and imput wire) and gets positive and negative power to it. From there all the cameras connect into it and their power wires connect into it.

Operation is good. Switching to reverse shows reverse and once you come out of reverse the front camera shows for 7seconds. (This feature can be disabled but I like it). It also comes with a small remote controller with 3M stick tape. I installed this in my flip down "card holder" on the overhead console. You can activate any of the 4 camera inputs at anytime with this remote. It will power the camera and trigger the head unit to show the camera feed.

The system also supports side view mirrors triggered from turn signal activation, I am just looking for some cheap cameras that will look good installed.

If you are not using the factory harness for your backup anymore I believe this is the easiest/cheapest way to get a FRAC setup.

Your dash LITERALLY looks exactly like mine right now, AND I just added a TRD knob.

It's currently apart since I have to replace my mic cable they broke installing my remote start, and add in a few things to prep for a full stereo install. Weird!

Tempted by both of these - the price is right. I looked them both up and neither appears to be a FFV, hence some hesitation on whether or not I'd lose gas gauge function. The second one doesn't even show the cluster...kind of sketchy whether or not it's the regular orange or the Optitron? Or should it be the Opti based on the trim level (I think it was asked above as well). I guess worst-case I could try one out, and if the fuel gauge doesn't work properly, I could always re-sell it...

This one looks like it may be Optitron as well? It's certainly dark, but there's not a lot of info, and the VIN comes back without a trim level: https://www.ebay.com/itm/304315017936

Has leather seats and a chrome trim ring around the gauges. Looks like it's been debadged.

I'm really, really trying to figure out if I should pull the trigger on one of these lol

There appears to be 3 different fuel sending units, which covers a large swatch of trims and years, and not a single mention of FFV/non-FFV compatibility. Directly from parts.toyota.com as well...ugh

    833200C030
    833200C040
    833200C080

All three come up when I use my VIN. All three have my 2011 DC 5.7L Tundra Grade called out as a fit. Seems like the higher numbers cross over more into later years, but without any engine-type designations listed, I'm not sure. They all have various Limited trims called out as well.

You could pull the donor vin in Toyodiy.com to see what part # is listed for the sending unit and compare it to the same for your vin.

    My '12 has 83320-0C080

It lists the vin, 5TBDV58198S498195, as having part 83320-0C022. Not a match for me, but I don't think that's a guarantee it won't work.

To add more...the one I'm looking at has the 83320-0C023 assembly lol...

Looking deeper, they all have one thing in common from that site: they're either listed with a bunch of FFV, or non-FFV models, so there has to be a difference. Whether or not that impacts the operation of the cluster? ::dunno::

I'd probably make a jump for around 100, but I couldn't do it without correcting the mileage. I'd either have to find the perfect cluster or have it adjusted. Not sure this is worth it...coming from a guy who has swapped clusters in several previous vehicles.

I swapped fx4 clusters into two of my rangers. Those were easy because you could disassemble down to the components and swap the guts behind the gauge faces - odometer module, fuel gauge, and temp gauge. There was even an adjustment dial to set the tach by cylinder count. The Tacoma cluster I swapped was more challenging, but I was able to advance the odo to my mileage with a little 12v chip that replicated the vss pulse.

Same - threw an offer on eBay out there for $75 for one of the clusters to give it a try at least. I guess I'll see where it goes!

Okay...so I realized I was going about this whole thing the wrong way. If I could fine two Limited trucks for sale online somewhere, one regular and one FFV, then I should be able to plug in the VIN and cross-reference the parts for the cluster based on that. Since I *can't* find an FFV cluster on eBay actually for sale....duh!

And, I think maybe some measure of success? Found two 2011 Limited out there, one FFV and one non.

    Non-FFV vehicle:

    upload_2022-2-17_15-4-58.jpg

    FFV vehicle:

    upload_2022-2-17_15-5-45.jpg

So...it sure looks like both vehicles share the same gauge assembly. I guess depending on whether or not I get one, I'll be able to maybe figure it out if it will work between the two. I can't imagine there's anything in-line between the two potential problem spots (fuel sending unit and fuel gauge). But, I also could be totally wrong!
