2022 Tundra Limited TRD Offroad Army Green (hopefully)
Hello! Bought a Tacoma as my first ever truck 3 years ago, recently realized that 2 kids + car seats + dog = tight squeeze. Been attempting to trade it in for a 2022 Tundra since April '21 (at least get on a reservation/waitlist), and after an unfortunate few months of my trusted dealership of ~10 years dropping the ball, I finally got one coming in this week from another dealer! '22 Limited TRD Offroad Crewmax Army Green. Had a 3" lift and 33" Falken Wildpeaks on the Tacoma, and gave a '22 Tundra SR5 a test drive, and it thankfully and surprisingly passed the wife test - we were both very surprised how similar it felt to the Tacoma.

    Very much looking forward to:
-Getting rid of the silver fu-manchu mustache and bumper (why on earth is this only color keyed options on SR5s and TRD Pros???)
-Not having a phone mount (Apple Carplay!)
-De-chroming the door handles and/or window trim - has anyone done this?
-Blacking out emblems / potentially getting a heritage grille if they are release any time soon
-taking it out on the Colorado trails/roads, stock. Appears to have the same clearance as the lifted Tacoma, which is great. Would love to not pay more to lift it/upgrade suspension and use that money for a topper, tonneau cover, etc...I mainly just use it a few weekends in the summer months to get the family to places most people can't to avoid crowds. Don't really offroad just for the sake of offroading, if that makes sense.
-Seeing people's opinions and experience with Toppers, Tonneau Covers, racks, etc...we had an ARE topper on the Tacoma with a Prinsu Rack, which worked great, but taking it on and off to use the truck for house projects was a PAIN with just the wife and I. Is there a better way to do this, or is it just a 3 person minimum job?

Anyway, happy to be here :)

Get a hoist to Mount to the ceiling in the garage (assuming you have one) and use it to lift the topper off the bed. Can be attached to the rack. They’re readily available and used by Jeep hardtop owners also.
