I want to know what the best shorty antennas are out there.
Please list the manufacturer, model number and your opinion on reduced or increased reception.

I had an AntennaX EuroStyle 13" inch antenna installed on my Tacoma.
    http://www.antennax.com/p-3960-eurostyle-13-inch-antenna-1995-thru-2014-toyota-tacoma.aspx
The reception in the Denver metro area was good but driving outside of the city limits drastically reduced the reception. Stations that were clear in Boulder before were very statically to the point where I had to turn to another channel. Forget about listening to the radio in the foothills and mountains, too much static.

On my new Tundra without an antenna at all the radio isnt that bad in town. Little static here and there. Im thinking that a shorty will be perfect in town. I will have to put the 13" AntennaX on it and test it out.

On a 2nd Gen the antenna can be 26"-28" to match cab height.

I was thinking about picking up a Honda S2000 antenna... I put one on my Celica back in the day and didn't notice a difference. The stock tundra one hits my garage door I can't take it anymore haha though I'm not sure if I will thread on, I haven't looked at the tundra one yet

I have the Cravenspeed stubby one and love the look of it, performance was good, but to be honest I never listen to local radio. I stream Google Music and use Sat radio for now. The times I did try local all of my stations were coming in fine. The look is what I liked most.

Day 1 antennax was good in most spots in the metro area but in a few spots I got a short few seconds of staticky radio.

I had a Cravenspeed one when I had the Taco. Had a hell of a time getting it off when I wanted to go back to stock. The antenna wanted to unscrew from the inside part that screws into the truck instead of the whole thing unscrewing out of the truck. Reception kinda sucked, but it was mostly for looks since I don't listen to much FM radio.

Tried the stubby antennas. They sucked unfortunately. Put the stock one back on, I use it as a height checker now. If something hits that antenna im close to hitting my roof.

Stock or lifted? Stock shouldn't hit much (ie drive thrus, parking garages etc).

I have a Ronin Factory antenna and the stock antenna definitely had better reception. I don't mind though since I mainly listen to Spotify or Soundcloud anyways.
Also with my stock antenna I would scrape on some parking garages. I guess the good part to that was it let me know if I was close to scraping my roof, but it eventually go annoying.

I tried the 17" one from Antenna Masts Rus. It worked fine on some stations (and was great in the car wash), but the stations I listen to kept going in and out of HD. I switched back to the stock antenna.

3/1 Level. I know its not really "Lifted" but ive come close to some parking garages around town where i stick my hand out and touch cross beams entrance etc. My antenna is at 7 feet.

I have a stubby antenna from @TheAntennaSource. It's been great. The rare times I've used the radio, I haven't noticed any loss of reception. Shipping to Canada was fast and reasonably priced.

Definitely the stubby from the Antenna Source. I’ve run through several carwashes. No issues. No loss in reception. I highly recommend it.

I tried out several different stubbies of various lengths over the 5 years I had my 07. Not long before I traded it in, I finally went back to the OEM antenna because it worked just about anywhere and in all types of terrain unlike any of the stubbies I tested. My 14 will have the OEM installed shortly.

I tried the stubby one. Broke off three times in the full service car wash. Plus reception was not as good. Good luck. D

I have the sunnys from Amazon. It beats the whip that came in the truck. The whip took too much stress on the fender. The six and three quarter works just fine.

I have the seven inch from Amazon. The fender took too much stress from the car wash. Best move I've made. I've done this with all my trucks.

If they simply made a flush plug for it, I'd buy it. I listen to SiriusXM all the time. So I have no need for FM/AM.

This^^^. I did a write up here on the forum about antennas. I bought at least 6 different shorties....different brands. Just before I traded in my 07, I put back on the OEM antenna. The best reception. Keep in mind that here in Denver you can get up in the middle of nowhere quick. Bottom line... shorties suck. You will get crap reception up in the mountains. The OEM eventually craps out too, but long after shorties...

Works great. I live near Portland, but even driving 60+ miles south I get Portland stations. No complaints here.
