Rubbing fender liners after lift

Got a 6in lift put on Blue Betty and at full lock in reverse that bitch rubs the fender liner. I bought a heat gun to heat up and push the wells in a bit and was looking for some info on how to do this from you fine gentleman that have. Temp used, methods etc..

 

When I did the heat method (700 F) it looked amateur. The Temps allow the fender liner to be melted quicker or slower depending what you start of with.
I obligated the extra time to shim the bumper giving me a 1/2 inch forward. @Coachbuilder does make a shim for the bumper but I used washers. I do not have any rubbing forward and/or reverse, at full lock.

 

I just trimmed the plastics.

 

Talking bout small mud flaps in front of tire? I have a 6" lift on 35*12.50*20s no wheel spacers I noticed that the plastic fenders inside wheel well in front of tires were cut and rear of fog lights exposed so i bought new ones and the small mud flaps came with and they rubbed so the bottom bolts that hold metal bumper ends i loosened up and had a buddy pull the bottom out towards him and tightened back up then i used 2 small short i dont know thickness but its like a wood screw and I screwed the front mud flap to the wheel well front fender and it kinda sucked in that mud flap so at full turn fwd rev no rubbing

 

The small mudflaps had been donated to the garbage awhile ago lol. But I'll try jabbing the liners forward

 

Along with shimming the front bumper corners, you could also just loosen the two (or is it 3??) large bolts that hold the liner bottom and bumper cover assy together and pull the whole bumper end forward. There's some wiggle room. Depending on where you bumper ends are currently secured, you could get up to half an inch.

Half an inch could make allll the difference.

This is what I just did. cave about .5-.75" I threaded the bolt about .5 to the rear and .5 inward. It's also easier if you thread the bolt first, then push the liner so the tip of the bolt catches so you know you use the same hole.

On the pass side, I just threaded it not knowing if it was going to line up. It did but at an angle.

 

Did you drill new holes in the liner? Are they bolts or self tapping screws?

No I'm not. I cut a little too much. Don't cut as much as I did if you are worried

 

Yes, new hole in liner, same hole on bumper

 

Which 3 bolts are you talking about?

 

I believe there is a small in the fender liner, and two larger ones that attach the bottom of the fender liner to the front bumper. Those 2 larger ones can be loosened slightly and the whole bumper corner can be slid forward in a slot hole. I got about 1/2 in out of mine and solved the reverse rubbing sound.

Is it the corners that move or the liner that would be pushed forward?

 

If memory serves (it's getting a little rusty these days...too much other junk up there) the liner piece moves.
