I've gotten a ton of inspiration from this form and thinking it's time to give my white '08 Sequoia Limited a facelift. 93k on the clock and planning to keep it for another 10+ years. Wife also likes the idea (score!).

My local dealer does charge a restocking fee so I want to make sure the fit is good. Thanks!

Still need the buldge screws (9016750063). Local dealer doesn’t show any in stock. Will try the hardware store
I also have the original TPRMS sensors. Guessing it’s probably time to replace those with the new wheels?
As for tires, I’m thinking General Grabber 275/70/18 in the standard ply. While I do load it up (3 kids + gear), I don’t typically tow more than 1,200lbs (raft) so 10-ply/E is probably not necessary.

Will post some before/after pics once I'm done. Cheers!

    Welcome!

I was able to salvage the screws needed from the old grill. There’s a bunch on there that are the same or at least they worked for me.

The grabbers seem like a quality tire, thinking they will be my next set when I’m ready. 275/70/18 work on my stock limited perfectly with ko2’s.

Sounds like a solid, well thought out plan. I just got the Grabbers this past summer and i love them. More info on the specs on the top of my build page.

This sounds like a great plan but I think you will be upset if you don’t add the newer style headlights. They really change the whole look of the truck. Just my 2c, check out my build thread for proof:). Good luck and make sure to take tons of pics.

What color is the car? I think the white bulge and black grille would look funny. Other than that, I agree with everyone else.

Grille, door handles, mirrors and badges (Plastidip) are done. Waiting on a couple TPM sensors and will get the wheels on as well as the skid plate. Then on to headlights (still searching), new head unit and call it good.

I found another Sequoia build here with the white bulge and black grille as well one white/white. Put it to a family vote and I lost 4:1, lol. I do like how it turned out. Granted, anything is better than the stock grill with rock chipped fake chrome.

Yeah, after the new grille, the lights have to go. Keeping an eye out for used ones. I read your thread and it sounds like OEM is the best way to go here.

Wheels, tires and skid plate installed. Very happy with the outcome. The General Grabbers have performed well with all the snow we’ve been getting lately.

Nothing is more pleasing to me than taking my 2013 and making it into a "2018+ TRD PRO" My last piece of the puzzle is the hardest, the cluster. I'm getting there.

I'm going to have my scrapes & a small dent fixed and the hood lip and upper/bottom of the grille painted. Here is as it sits:

Looks great! Those headlights are on my list. Tempted to go Morimoto XB’s for the ease of install (and much cheaper), but worried I’ll regret not going OEM.

While I love the Morimotos, I think the OEM lights take it to a whole nother level. If you shop around, you can get them for about the same price as the Morimotos. There are some aftermarket lights with the OEM shape now as well. Maybe check in with @donellyd to see how his new lights are treating him.
This is a 2008 for reference!

Thanks, I really love the 2018+, that they are OEM and if you are patient the lights can be had for 400 or so each, just be careful, there are ones with a silver panel & ones with a black panel. My ADD could not handle it on my Tundra & I had an "extra" silver one until I got my Sequoia.

I forgot I put the black overlay on the SEQUOIA, they sent a mixed kit, flat Toyota logo & gloss SEQUOIA, I am waiting for teh replacement flat SEQUOIA to come.

I’ll have to shop around and see what I can find. Best I could do at a dealer was $680 or so each.

In your photo above, is that option 1 or 2 for the harness install as far as the DRL’s go?

Option 2. I love the amber boomerang light. It looks different then all the other OEM sequoias out there.

ColMan, does the TRD Pro Skid plate (PTR6034190) fit easily on your 2008 and does it allow for easy access to the oil filter assembly or will I still have to remove the entire skid plate as I do today on my 2010 Sequoia Platinum to access the oil cannister??
    Thanks!

There is a panel that allows access to the filter.

I have all of my plates off from welding in a bung for my wide band O2 sensor for the supercharger. Here's a clear picture.

Thank you. I assume the old factory skid plate comes off and the TRD Pro just bolts right up in its place?

Love my vland gen 2s but I do miss the headlight washers I never used... Don't like having them tucked away with an unusable button.
