I've done a little research on here, TT, and TW on the topic. Most seem to be about replacing the stock clutch fan with an electric one. I have no desire to do that. However, I would love to find a way to fit an electric set of two (or up to 4 smaller ones if necessary) that I can turn on via a switch when offroading at slower speeds. Apart from doing a transmission fluid drain/fill and expanding the cooling/fluid capacities with a new aluminum/finned cover (which I plan on doing but way down the road), it seems finding a way to work an optional electric system in there would be the next best route to consider looking into.

I know @dirtydeeds had a kit a few years back but -- if I recall correctly -- it was a replacement.

Thoughts? It's happened twice in the past few months where I was wheeling in 4x4 and I've gotten the dreaded "high transmission temperature" warning. Once was in the Sierras up high in the cold. Once was in the desert down low in the heat. Obviously my transmission is working harder with my 40s and being undergeared but that's going to be fixed with 4.88s once my funds go up.
