I found a Yakima Megawarrior that I may buy to perch on top of my Sequoia mostly as a cheap visual upgrade because I like the way the 4runners and LCs look with them. I do a fair amount of camping, road trip vacations, and have three kids and a dog so extra storage space is a plus but really a closed topper is probably better for that. What do you put in your basket? Like it? Hate it? I'm not shelling out for anything more versatile like a Gobi because I won't use it. Help me justify this. Show me your pics!

I love mine. Bought it about 10 years ago. I only use it during the summer/fall months then I take it off for the rest of the year - mostly because I'm trying to limit rust and low mpgs. ONLY thing I don't like about it is I have trouble going into some low garages; like home and places in the city. Sometimes she scrapes a bit and it is SCARY.

Pro Tip: If you are going to load the shit out of it, like I do, you'll want to put some kind of supports under the two factory crossbars. As a quick solution years ago, I chopped a pool noodle into six pieces and put three, spread out, under each rail. Works so well I never tweaked it.

Dang you have a lot of gear up there. I thought the stock rails are only rated to 140 lbs or so? Also I’m guessing you have the extension on the mega warrior? Looks pretty rad, I like it! And nice rig!

Yep, I have the extension, too. IMO, you gotta have it or it looks silly. Yeah, I know the max rating is kinda low but I need to haul a lot of gear. That's why I purchased the goofy little trailer. Dogs and kids take of up the inside so I gotta go up and behind. I'm pretty sure the rails can handle much more than 140 or so lbs but it's the cross bars you have to worry about. They start to sag to the roof so that's why I had to go w/ the noodles!

Are you dead set on a Basket up there? Keeping cargo covered is pretty nice..
