Thinking of putting on a black exhaust tip on my stock exhaust. What size do I need to get? Any others with exhaust tips? Show some pics so I can see or help me decide. Thanks.

Depends if you decide to cut or leave the flared portion at the end.

I found it easier to cut it off and attach new tip to the smaller inlet. Believe the new inlet size became 2 7/8" but hopefuly someone can verify.

Ended up with a tip from Go Rhino that has held up well.

I added the Go Rhino GRT234410B and painted the tailpipe black.

Had to cut tailpipe a bit but no big deal.

Bought it in Amazon - $40 for the exhaust tip and $13 for the VHT FlameProof paint.

    It's 5" I believe.
It's a slip on. You just tighten the clamp.

I'm having a bit of a laugh but at myself.. I'm so in need of the right information and if one is cruising thru a thread like this one looking for something exact, well your SOL.. I am also looking for a blacked out tip to put on my stock pipe. It's flared as we all know.. So I thinks to myself, cut it off and put this tip over the pipe? Most people who have reviewed these add on tips say that it will not tighten even with the sleeve kit. This one from Dirty Deeds looks beefy, is it made to fit over the stock pipe after the flange is cut off? What is the cross measurement of the business side of the tip, you know the side that is meant to slip over the existing pipe?..;-) No excuse for my questioning mind.. The price difference is amazing and well you know the rest.. Thanks..

our tip slips over the flared end of the stock tailpipe. no need to cut that part off.

we have never had an issue with it not tightening properly, and we have hundreds of them on customers trucks.

Why on earth did Toyota flair the end of the exhaust on my 17 Tundra? I just got a new black tip and proceeded to take the chrome one off. Due to the flared exhaust, there is no way it is coming off. And yes I removed the flange. I don’t know how they even got it on in the first place. I have seen where others have cut the flair off to remove the tip and get the new one on. A new exhaust tip is nothing more that a bling accessory, yet of all the mods I have done, this is the most difficult. Pretty stupid Toyota.
