Hi fellas! Since the day I brought my Tundra home the antenna has hit my garage door. After leveling it a month ago it really hit and so began my search for a shorter antenna. Everything I found had bad reviews and I was to the point of cutting mine down a few inches. And then I came across AntennaMastsRus. Their stubby is 6 3/4", stiff but flexible and best of all, it's guaranteed to work or they'll give you your money back. So, I thought for $18.50 I'd give it a shot. Put it on on Friday and tested it out inside the shop and had all my stations. Drove home under clear skies, everything was good. Drove yesterday under cloudy skies and a brief but heavy rain, still good. Today was the test, drove from Green Bay 90 miles up to the U.P. (upper peninsula of Michigan) and reception was just as good as it was with the stock antenna, clear skies up, cloudy and rain on the way back. So if you're like me and tired if hitting your garage door, sick of touching up the trim, worried about breaking your antenna and can't afford a new garage, check 'em out. www.antennamastsrus.com.20170602_105349.jpg 20170602_181022.jpg 20170602_181439.jpg

I was literally just reading nothing but bad reviews on all of the short antenna's on Amazon. Thank you for an honest review and info!

I have an AMI Big Stick antenna and mine works pretty close to stock. I listen to xm mainly bit when I do switch I was not disappointed. On the other hand though mine was double the one discussed here

I read those same reviews, zero reception and fading color. This one is a hard rubber coating from top to bottom and fits in the base nicely. They claim to have tested them on several different vehicles with positive results. My testing wasn't very scientific, I just scanned through the stations every 15 or 20 miles and while almost all of the stations faded out about 40 miles or so from Green Bay they did the same with the stock antenna too. One station holds for about 70 miles going north and it did pretty much the same with the stubby and the U.P. has minimal stations but it seemed to pick them up just fine.

I just drove from Ohio to the Keweenaw and back and can attest to this. Felt like I was changing stations every 20-30 min at times while in the UP.

I have been contemplating a stubby for a while now. Thanks for the info.

Did you buy it direct from them or Amazon? Looking on their page, is it this one: Tundra Ultra High End 6 3/4 " Manual Mast $18.50

Yeah, they did. Seemed a little steep considering that Manitowoc is only about 35 miles from Green Bay but I didn't have the time to drive down there so I had to buck up for the shipping lol

Yeah still not a bad price for it. Just seemed weird to charge that much considering the price of the actual antenna.

That's the one. I ordered it directly from them. It shipped the following day and USPS had it in my mailbox 2 days later.

I kinda thought that too. In retrospect, I should've driven down to get it....would've been a good excuse to get out with my buddy salmon fishing on the big pond.

I used PayPal but when I chose that option it told me that PayPal couldn't sign in. After that I think I went to cart and then it let me use PayPal.

I have the Toyota TRD stubby and it works great. I live in Orange County, CA so there is no weak signal here or anywhere I drive so that might not be a good test. My only complaint is that it howls at 80-85 MPH.

That was this mornings test. Went through a touch less automatic, scanned the stations, they all came in great and the antenna didn't budge...so far, so good.

I hope it works well for you Phil and for the other guys that have ordered one. So far mine is great. I can't attest to the HD channels as I only have a couple here but they come in fine. I haven't done the Entune yet, the bad reviews kind of turned me off and I mostly listen to sports and talk radio.
