    so they say multiple times that they widened the frame at the back - but somehow this made the resulting bed shallower and smaller than the previous Gen.
    Somebody want to explain that one to me.

    I wonder if the new composite materials have anything to do with that? Could they have made it smaller to save costs? Or because they needed to keep it more rigid?

    It actually turns out this was one of the trucks with the turbo wastegate issues. They decided to do the walk around while they had the cab off. :boink:
